JuvUK: it's a great thingy, this SDiskEmul :)

Have you soldered it correctly as per instructions?

Re: WANTED: ST-related magazines

Hi, thanks --- actually I already did check them, as well as a heap of other sites but no-one is selling Games Machine or The ONE ... I'm also looking for some Amiga Power. Most of my other collections are pretty much complete.

Cheers :-)

Re: UltraSatan is comming...

Thanks for the info Jookie. I have my UltraSatan preordered (and paid for) already :) I'm going to postpone getting the power supply for it until it gets settled how much volts and amps are needed. I know the preorder page says 7.5 V and minimum 300 mA but I'm still going to wait until the finished ...

Re: UltraSatan is comming...

Shouldn't I be able to hook the + line of the UltraSatan lead up to +12V from the the ST and the - minus up to +5V for a +7V voltage differential? This is a very bad idea... One of the power lines going to UltraSatan should be definitely a GND (0V) and the other should be 7V or more (but preferably...

WANTED: Atari ST >INTERNAL< keyboard - UK model

Hi, Looking for a clean Atari ST keyboard, UK model. External keyboards won't do - I need the keyboard "unit" from inside the ST case (for a modding project). If you have a dead ST, here's your chance to give at least the keyboard a good home :) I can pay via PayPal or Bank Transfer, whichever is be...

Re: STfm prob: screen stutters "in sync" with floppy motor(!?!)

A joystick cable is not very good because the wires will get interference and crosstalk. An easy solution may be to butcher a VGA cable; or a thin 75 ohm coax that connects a computer tv out to the tv (one coax for each of Red Green Blue). A compromising solution would be to use an ethernet cable (...

Re: Atari ST to Commodore 1084s monitor

So the standard ST > Phillips monitor cable won't work? I have a Commodore monitor but the picture rolls terribly! Likely V-sync. line needs to be connected different. Indeed, VSYNC needs to be connected. I just made an Atari ST -> C1084 cable yesterday, and just out of curiosity I tried it with on...

Re: STfm prob: screen stutters "in sync" with floppy motor(!?!)

Thanks for the informative replies, guys! Okay, so there are three possible reasons for the jumpy screen symptom: 1) Cable is getting interference. 2) PSU is getting old. 3) Capacitors drying. I'm not an electronics expert really, do you mean the 2) and 3) are the same thing? I opened up the compute...

STfm prob: screen stutters "in sync" with floppy motor(!?!)

Strange problem I'm having here... I bought a 1040STfm from eBay Germany last week, and it arrived today. I then made a cable for my Commodore 1084S monitor, which has a 6-pin RGB Analog input. The cable has GND, HSYNC, VSYNC and the usual R, G and B wires connected. In addition, the R, G, B wires h...

Yes I think so, but I assume that there is a fee involved. Western Union is one of the companies that have such a service.

Re: Won ST game on Ebay Germany - bank transfer only HELP!

@Marakatti, @Jake/Depression: Should work without any fees from Finland => Germany at least. I just paid for an Atari STe a few days back (bought from eBay Germany), no extra bank transfer fees! At least my bank (Nordea) has two options: A) "Pikamaksu" ("Express payment", which costs a lot(?) extra)...

FOUND: 4x1MB SIMM set (for STe)

I am going for full 4MB on my Atari STe -- so, as title says, looking for 4 SIMM modules of 1MB each. Preferably: * matching/similar modules * 70ns (I guess this is the most compatible speed?) * non-parity * tested I can pay via Bank Transfer (to European countries) or PayPal (preferred). Thanks :) ...

Re: Joystick port functionality with external keyboard (ST/STe)

Okay guys, thank you very much for the clarifications. Considering that I really don't want the joysticks being connected to the external keyboard (too much cable mess), I will have to perform some hacking stunts to achieve my goal. I will scavenge a dead ST for the keyboard unit and re-wire the joy...

Joystick port functionality with external keyboard (ST/STe)

Hello, Long time reader, but this is my first post. This is a great forum with a lot of technical knowledge :) Now, I have both an STfm and STe. I want to use an external keyboard (either brutally scavenge from a dead ST or get a "real" external keyboard, e.g. MegaST model). Okay, the ST(e) motherbo...
