Re: Atari STe SD card reader on the Extended Joystick Port

Here is the final release, the driver can now write data to the SD card, and it support up to 4 partitions of type "primary" on your SD card. Each partition will be matched to any available drive on your Atari (for example: C/D/E/F) Each partition must be 32Mbytes maximum and formated using the FAT1...

Re: Atari STe SD card reader on the Extended Joystick Port

what type of SD card do you use ?
the best card to use are the smaller capacity one (like 2 or 4Gbytes) I'm not sure this will works with higher capacity like 32Gbytes (and you won't be able to use the full capacity anyway)
or maybe the sdcard reader is not the right type, can you post a photo ?

Re: Atari STe SD card reader on the Extended Joystick Port

the idea was to make it cheap with parts that you can already buy.
otherwise I would have come up with something on the cartridge port

Atari STe SD card reader on the Extended Joystick Port

Hello, A friend of mine, Zerosquare had an original idea several years ago, about using a cheap SPI 5 volt SD card module that everyone uses on arduino, but now plugged on the Extended Joystick Port of the Atari STe (because this port provide 5 volts) During the confinement, I had some time to work ...

Re: Coding the clean way: calling Xbios in VBL subroutine for sound mixing

I'm trying to get back to an interrupt use (essentially because "buffptr" won't be possible to implement on EmuTOS for amiga, and I want sound on amiga as well :p ) As soon as I use the function "Xbtimer(XB_TIMERA, 5, 38, timerA);" on Falcon, the mouse and keyboard freeze. even if in my "timerA" fun...

Re: Coding the clean way: calling Xbios in VBL subroutine for sound mixing

this method is working, except when I popup a gem dialog, since I have no control over it.
I now need to make sure there is no sound playing before calling "form_alert"

Re: Coding the clean way: calling Xbios in VBL subroutine for sound mixing

well some GEM functions are taking more than one vbl to execute so, my buffer would be too small, except if I get a bigger buffer of course, but then the sound fx latency might get annoying :/ anyway, I will try that method in last resort. Here is my code: SBUFPTR: dc.l 0,0,0,0 ; SBUFPTR Structure f...

Re: Coding the clean way: calling Xbios in VBL subroutine for sound mixing

the problem is that for the graphic part I'm using GEM, and calling "evnt_multi_fast", so I don't have a loop where I can update my sound buffer fast enough, that's why I needed to do it in a VBL int

Coding the clean way: calling Xbios in VBL subroutine for sound mixing

Hello, I made game using clean programming (calling GEM, XBIOS, etc...) and I'm trying to improve it to get the maximum compatibility over atari machines. I'm playing sounds, with a simple sound mixing routine of 4 channels. So I get the _SND cookie, and if the XBIOS sound functions are not availabl...

Re: .App extension < How to use?

there is no way this screenshot is real, how can GEM desktop allow more than 8 characters folder ?? In Steem, click on the Disk Manager Icon, then click on "GEMDOS hard drive", and for the C drive, select the folder where your APP file is. Now reboot Steem and you should see your APP file in the C h...

Re: 68080 Apollo Core

the problem is that very little people can code fpga to make a falcon close from the firebee. also the firebee is very expensive (almost twice more than the vampire) and I guess, the 68080 is more 68k compatible than the coldfire if the firebee had almost no significant improvement since 10 years, I...

the Vampire V4 stand alone card is basically aimed to replace Falcon + CT60, and be faster.
it's even faster than a firebee http://kronos.lutece.net/V4/V4_comparison.pdf
