Re: Spectrum 512

I still have my manual for Spectrum 512... it came with a 3 ring binder. I actually did a school report video with it (to RF in on VCR) and wow'd a lot of folks, back in 1986 or 87 (I'm 41). Good times, hacking pixels at 3AM all strung out on Jolt cola and instant coffee. I remember when I bought i...

Re: Spectrum 512

Examigan, there is a bug in latest Steem version, and sometimes hardware switch 50 / 60Hz doesn't work. Spectrum512 is really sensitive to that switch. Try another Atari emulator - Hatari. It is still developed and actually is the most compatible with real hardware. In near future I'll publish my S...

So you need to find a enulator that does that sped exactly.
I think STeem was set to 8mhz, but I will check it out, thanks for the ideas :)

Re: Spectrum 512

I remember using Specrtum 512 on my Atari ST wayback when, great program! One thing that was totally cool was the gradient fills, awesome stuff, never seen it done that well in any program since. Is there any way to get it run the right way in STeem? The colors look all messed up, like it is having...

Menace is a great one.
I loved the first Xenon, even though it's not horizontal scrolling, and Blood Money also. :)

Re: R-Type

I think on the PC they just simply used the ST or Amiga graphics. No way, check how different the graphics are, it looks like 8 colors (at most) on the PC version, and at least 16 on the ST. PC version: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/baal/screenshots/gameShotId,14608/ http://www.mobygames.com/ga...

Re: R-Type

This looks like a great project! Off topic here, but it would be cool to see something like Menace or Baal redone for PC and maybe spiffed up a bit too. On the Atari ST it looked pretty good, but on the PC version of Baal, it had a lot less colors: http://www.mobygames.com/game/dos/baal/screenshots/...

Re: Do you know the Robotz author?

Great job on this! :) I loved this game when it first came out, like "Beserk" but on steroids hehe It is pretty hard to play though, I got killed out so quick I was like..."What the... what happened?" it wasn't like that in the original, but it IS really cool, thanks for the great remake. :D

Re: CAD-3D 2.0 CyberSculpt CyberPaint 2.0 for Steem?

Cool! Thanks alot for those :D But don't they have to be in a certain format to run under Steem? Usually ST DIsk Image files work fine, but not sure how to convert these or if I even have to. IIRC you can set up a virtual hard disk in Steem, which is basically a folder on your PC's hard drive. Anyt...

I am interested in CAD 2.0 as well, it was a great program. Amazing what could be done way back then with only 8 mhz. :)

CAD-3D 2.0 CyberSculpt CyberPaint 2.0 for Steem?

I know there are tons of games that can run on Steem, but I never see any apps out there. It would be cool to run CyberPaint or CAD 3D 2.0 again, or others if available.

Where is a good place to find them?

Re: Those Amiga Newtek pictures

I'm sure there were some demo pictures from Newtek's DigiView v4 software. The Dynamic HAM pictures (16 new base colours per scanline at upto 512 lines down) of the dead tree over sunset and some smooth pebbles on a freshwater lake were really well done. I actually owned DigiView and at the time it...

Re: Spectrum 512 and HAM6 comparison

Interesting, I loved Spectrum 512 on my old Atari 520ST :) , and I later bought an Amiga 2000. The gradient fills possible with Spectrum 512 were awesome looking. Yellow_Colorz_PDT_24 I wrote a review for a magazine in the late 80's I think, maybe early 90's about Unispec, the upgrade for Spectrum t...

Oids
Tower Toppler (I think sometimes called Nebulous)
Barbarian
Blood Money
Space Station Oblivion
Xenon 1 and 2
