Re: KryoFlux USB - Software update to v2.40

I think the GUI will see the 32 and 64 bit DTC as different versions, and it is designed to pop up on a version change. I guess we could probably improve that, but do you need to switch between the two?

Or maybe I misunderstand what you mean?

Re: KryoFlux Stream Analyzer

Wow. Nice work DrCoolZic!

Dio: In fact, that is exactly what we did. There is quite a lot in the 2004/2005 WIPs about it.

Yep, it was that RetroGamer issue - "speech version", lovely. :) I'm trying to play Fight of the Amazon Queen in the last few months, but have not really had any time to devote to it. I can't really see game downloads having a huge effect on any effort to commercialise on these games because: 1) The...

LOL :D No problem at all mate. :) I just wanted to get the facts straight 'tis all. Just one thing about copyright. It would be highly unusual for a company to "relinquish" copyright on a game. They still keep the copyright - they are just allowing distribution. For an example, see Factor 5 (http://...

Well done to whoever split the thread. I will post what was going to be a PM to RetroGamerUK here now.... --- Hello RetroGamerUK, You main concern seems to be getting hold of the games, but in this respect I don't really understand why you think CAPS and Pasti are so different. Pasti has stated that...

Yes, I am afraid you still are missing the point, but I am not going to discuss it with you here, and since you won't take it to another thread I will PM you. Feel free to share our discussions, but not in this thread.

A lot of ST games have been ever so slightly "butchered" to enable the crack teams to get more than one game onto the scene's infamous 'Compact Disks'. Amiga cracks tend to leave the games more or less intact. (Did Amiga owners have more money for disks or something?) Perhaps it could be because ma...

Oh, I'm sure it is different. I did not mean to imply otherwise, bad wording, sorry. I just meant that we had not looked at it yet, but I personally am interested in doing so.

@RetroGamerUK AlexH is not part of CAPS. I have already stated why both projects are basically the same from a distribution perspective, perhaps you missed that bit. It makes your argument rather irrelevent. But this is not a suitable place for discussing this, and it is not fair to Ijor to do so he...

Sounds nice Igor. Just a couple of things I want to respond to, and I will leave your thread alone. :) that this is not another type of "preserve all the games (for me only) society" farce like was done on the Amiga. Well, I don't think that is very fair. We do what we can, but we still can't break ...

Sorry for the late post, I have been catching up on a lot of things lately. mmm, I'm a bit dubitative about that CAPS project... 1. the tool program can't be downloaded True. But anyone can have it. We only do this because we like to walk the user though the process rather than getting people submit...

"Flakey bits" so no chance unless you've got a A1200 and are part of the CAPS project. Well, you don't have to be a part of the project to dump disks, but no matter. :) Looks like Igor has it sorted anyway. If you're interested: The Amiga version does indeed have flakey/weak bits, but I don't remem...

When you say "available on the Internet" do you mean in cracked form? If so, that doesn't really count ;) Feel free to check our list, anything not on it is wanted: http://www.caps-project.org/games.php As for the ST disks, good point, I thought it might be worth a shot, but if they are really beyon...

@RetroGamerUK I am not completely clear what you are asking. The WHDLoad team do not offer games for download other than the ones they have permission for... No worries. The idea is really to preserve the games first, so that in the future (for example, when the copyright expires) we will actually have a *choice* about playing the original material - rather than having that choice taken away from us... Of course, that is not so helpful for people at the ...

I just looked at that site, there is a lot of mention of "DONATE" and "CONTRIBUTE", "REGISTER" and little sign of any downloads, so someone is making a nice tidy profit out of it then. Profit? No way! We are a strictly non-profit organisation. That is why we have the accounts page, so people can se...

I agree, and I will like to do so. But I'm afraid it won't be possible. CAPS is not disclosing the IPF format. And even if they would give me the IPF specs, say under an NDA (so that I would keep the secret), I won't use it. I certainly don't like the idea of using a propietary undisclosed standard...

One thing that is important is co-operation on the image fileformat, it would be good if you guys could co-operate with the emulator authors on that so we can get an "ultimate file format" and not 3-4 new ones. That could be a problem I'm afraid. 1) We have not yet opened up our format, it w...
