Re: Those Amiga Newtek pictures
Im hoping to get some time so I can get back to playing with my ST computer. Spectrum 512 was perhaps the most interesting paint program I have ever used.

I was wondering where you went. I don't think playing board games with your Mom counts as "lady friends" however.

Re: Those Amiga Newtek pictures
Hey everyone, sorry for my absense as of late- but my hobby time has been cut short thanks to my lady friends (they take up a LOT of time hehehe), work, search for a roommate, and a board game (Axis and Allies Pacific). With that said, when I get some time again, I will continue to do my thang inclu...

Re: Atari Style T-shirts
Man do I love Joust! I have a version for my 2600, 7800, 130XE, Mega ST, Sega Saturn, and Sega Dreamcast. Bounty bob was an easy one for me to recognized (Coleco version was my first- Atari's version just blew it away!). I remember my 1983 Antic Magazine printing the cheat code for that game (man ch...

Re: Those Amiga Newtek pictures
Sorry for not being able to get to the conversions. Social life has been demanding as of late. So many girls, only one me. Hahaha. =) I'll get to it when I can. The quick results didn't look so great. Ham6 is a pain to convert to Spectrum 512 because of extra fake colors HAM6 needs to get its colors...

Re: Those Amiga Newtek pictures
These NewTek pictures are original Amiga pictures. PNG pictures should be identical. For conversions, software can always be tweaked to produce differn't and better results. I don't see how you can avoid those "fake" colors in HAM6 pictures simply because of how it works. HAM6 and Spectrum 512 have ...

Re: Those Amiga Newtek pictures
That's why the Amiga pictures of the same always looked better than Spectrum 512 because the source was the Amiga. So when converting to Spectrum 512 format, all the "problems" that came with HAM6 also were converted to Spectrum 512. But still, those were excellent examples of what the original Amig...

Ok everyone this is my collection of those Amiga NewTek pictures. They range from 320x200 HAM6 to 640x400 16 color per scan line Dynamic HighRes. Conversions will be coming- but in case any of you wanted to take a stab at it. Here they are in PNG format.

Ok some Amiga person helped me find the pictures but now I have to convert the old Digiview pictures to the normal Amiga HAM6 format. Sigh. So close yet so far.

http://www.viksoe.dk/adfview/ Well with my LONG LONG LONG search for these DAM NewTek digiview pictures I can't seem to find, I found this cool PC program (ADFVIEW). Re: My Love for Atari Wallpapers
Well for the fun of it I converted the colorful fuji to the ST photochrome format from a standard 512 color ST. This picture does flicker more than I care for but still looks good.

They look great! Thanks. Could you have the Fuji with colors by itself? Just a black background so the colors look bright! I love the color spectrum inside.
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Tom Hudson Vs James D Sachs
A quick test in 16 colors without dithering, still a very good quality. Note: this is a PhotoShop 16 color gif conversion, so the palette probably changes a bit on real st. Edit: Laoded the 16 color GIF-files to Gemview on Atari and it showed everything pixelperfect like the PhotoShop, no real diff...

Re: Tom Hudson Vs James D Sachs
Tom Hudson did show what he could do if he had more colors with Spectrum 512. In this example he added color (150 more to be exact) to his 16 color BEE.

Tom Hudson Vs James D Sachs
I find it interesting that (to my knowledge) nobody really ever compared Tom Hudson VS James D Sachs. Their art helped sell the Atari ST and Commodore Amiga computers. Their art was also converted to other computers such as the Apple IIGS. My question to you is who do you think was the better artist...

Great 640x400 Monochrome art
Sadly I never purchased a monochrome monitor so I never had a collection of pictures. But I do remember seeing some great photos including 2 from Antic's 1986 art collection that included the great 640x200 Stoneage. Tom Hudson had graphic examples for every Atari resolution (including this very nice...

Re: Those Amiga Newtek pictures
It's amazing that both on this site and the Amiga org site, nobody seems to have these somewhat famous Amiga pictures. They were advertised in almost every Amiga magazine from 86-89. =(. Well perhaps someday I'll get a hold of them. As for the fashion comments- hahaaha. It's interesting- but oddly I...

Re: Atari GFX programs history
There a lot of people who did use their STs with fuzzy TVs in the past - and some still do. I agree that ST-MED is a bit unpleasant but one can use it (I did for ages) if desired. Actually a proper TV with SCART beats the poo of it for sure :D In the United States only the 1985 520ST came with an R...

Re: The BEST graphics on the Atari ST
Wow, I'm getting a good education from everyone. It seems I kind of knew some of this stuff but never really wanted to know. It was just obvious that when my VGA monitor produce a 320x200 picture, the squares looked boxy compared to the RGB Atari montior. The Atari ST monitor is progressive up to (6...

Re: The BEST graphics on the Atari ST
On a side note- When I play Joust via the Sega Saturn emulation, it sets the screen to its correct resolution and looks correct- the fills don't look so solid. But when I play Joust with the Sega Dreamcast- the pixels look solid like VGA. This is all being done on the same TV. Now I'm confused. hah...
