Re: ST-238R ST-225 Megafile 20 30 MFM RLL

Oh, it happened 3 years ago, rest her soul; When I was pillion last weekend on a BMW R1100 (like the one the police use), 3 drivers drove like idiots at the bike or ignored it. That bike is heavy, it will not end well in a collision. And the road was slippy, to make things worse. My thoughts are wit...

Re: Modifying a touchpad...maybe ppera helps?

Already on that Paul! The chair for the project is a gaming chair, thats kinda like a rocking chair, with built in speakers already, but the design flaw is the wires... So...in true Simbo styleee the electrical pickup is a solar panel (already sourced), with a motorbike battery backup, so the panel ...

Re: Modifying a touchpad...maybe ppera helps?

I hate to expend so much effort in a thread.... But the project leader didnt understand simbo, so culled the project, but I wish to prototype this, SO----- Alison, would there be a way to incorporate the device posted into a remote, wireless solution ? I must say that you are pretty unclear here. W...

Re: Modifying a touchpad...maybe ppera helps?

I hate to expend so much effort in a thread.... Thats a nice device you have there Alison (bet thats not the first time you heard that line eh??) Basically what I want to do is to remove the touchpad device from a USB or PS2 device, as the keyboard part is u/s, and transplant it into a gaming chair,...

Re: Modifying a touchpad...maybe ppera helps?

I don't see my origional question in my op post, maybe it was lost or edited?

What I wrote, ain't there now, lets leave it at that.

Censorship. I dunno. See I "PURPOSELY" never used SImbos name??? but his name appears in my OP post now? And half what I write has gone?

If thats the game so be it.

Re: Modifying a touchpad...maybe ppera helps?

No need to be rude! You quote yourself, and quote something you didn't origionally say - very strange. And why do you always quote a contract to people? I don't have a contract with you. Whats that about? If what you write is clear to yourself, but, and as I've pointed out before, nobody else can un...

Re: dodgy cartridge killed my mega!

Chandler (love the Simbo reference fella!) - are those voltages quoted present when the computer doesn't turn on? If they are then the PSU might be OK, but if not... Otherwise a short within the cart might be pulling the bus down? (I have a strange sense of deja vu, thats why I asked you to reread, ...

Modifying a touchpad...maybe ppera helps?

I've an interesting idea! Maybe incorporate a touchpad into a keyboard so no mouse required? Maybe use a seperate PC keyboard interfaced to an Atari..then use Simbos or ppera help, maybe get that touchpad use useful? Mostly all keyboards that I see outside PC is laptop, so an external PC keyboard wi...

Re: dodgy cartridge killed my mega!

The origional problem has not been clarified as a short on the 5v rail. The 'microfuse' hasn't been diagnosed as a fault...this is a microfuse.. http://parts.digikey.co.uk/1/parts-y/30578-microfuse-fast-acting-031a-0273-031v.html maybe rolyrat boy is right?? and ppera is also not off-line When will ...

Re: dodgy cartridge killed my mega!

Sounds like it was the straw that broke the camels back fella, re-search for PSU failures, the cart might have had an internal short that wiped the PSU out.. But going off the bizarre faults and machines you encounter mate......you seem to have a different and challenging fault almost daily! So wher...

Re: MSTE + Cache == EPIC FAIL

Not being funny or anything Simbo, and I know you mean well, and know your stuff, but is there any way to spell check what you write? Maybe copy/paste it into a wordprocessor, then paste back in, if the php add-on isn't available? It's getting really hard to read what you are putting down? And there...

Re: MSTE + Cache == EPIC FAIL

If reseating the chips helped, but not totally cured the problem, then I'd take the chips out completely, and clean all the pins manually, and use some degreaser on the sockets - carefully; if possible source new chips to replace what you have, follow Greenious' information, then you may cure or pin...

Re: Atari SF354 - not working, constant rotation

7407 is a hex buffer/driver w/open collector high voltage output, doesn't mean a lot does it? So it could be a data buffer, or it could be to do with the power, trace its print connections back, make sure the ic is getting power, and as Alison says, if in doubt - change it, they aren't dear. Its a b...

Re: Piracy killed the video game?

Back ontopic - I don't think that lack of support for the 68000 was the case, as I think ppera stated; Apple used the brand until quite recently as stated - however I feel it was a longer time ago than PC users remember(!) I don't think 14 years counts as "quite recently" :D As far as I can tell, t...
