Re: Steem for Android OS?
Got a Nexus7 a while back and it runs a number of emulators really well. MAME4Droid/MAME4All is spot on. UAE4Droid works reasonably well - Stunt Car Racer, Microsoft Golf and Shufflepuck Cafe are indistinguishable from ST versions. Shufflepuck is reasonably playable as the touchscreen emulates the m...

Re: DBug 200
On the http://dbug.kicks-ass.net/ site, Menus Page, Click 191-200, then Click 'Menu 200'.
This gives page not found.
All the others work.
On the forum, there is mention of a CD image with all 200 menus and password in 2009 but no url.

I seem to remember reading that PC's nearly had Motorola chips but the Intel ones were cheaper...mc6809e wrote:Had Atari/Amiga begun with Intel processors, I think they would have had a much better chance of surviving.

Re: STe - too little too late?
68000 only at 8MHz as the first ST ?! Wasnt the Amiga running at 7.14MHz? What killed both original machines is technology moved on rapidly and neither ST or Amiga was easily or cheaply expandable. Also a lot of the user base did not have access to 'free' software which originally gave rise to thei...

Re: STE and ST games
If you are using HD floppies, put sticky tape over the 'HD' hole and format them as 720K disks on the ST.
If still no luck, try running the programs in Steem 3.2 with TOS 1.62UK on the PC

WEC Le mans, I wish there was a version! I d/l an arcade ROM with the end of converting it, the orginal was68k so ought to be straight forward!  The original was two 68k's and a Z80 for the sound... I suspect that a number of the names are working titles that changed when released: Fo...

Re: Bent shutter on floppy disk - best solution?
I used to use a staple remover with the two of the remover prongs under the back 'aperture', straddling the lip, gripping and then quickly pulling up.
The remover had the effect of raising the lip over the plastic, reducing the risk of damaging a good shutter.

Re: Dragons Lair on 520STM ??
Try putting the program you are double clicking in to an AUTO folder as this does not load the desktop into memory.
Sometimes even tiny crack programs forced some games from 512Kb to 1Mb.
If you use a 50/60Hz switcher, put this in first, then the game program to ensure it switches first.

CJ is right - Fastcopy was the standard (fact not opinion) for menu disks as it ensured that tracks read correctly and allowed retries on misreads. Ten years ago I copied most of my disks onto PC without many problems. Most were formatted by Fastcopy and copied by STImage (which can also copy back t...

This might be a daft question but where can one download some of the rarer menus like 4, 7, 13, 18, 19, 24, 38, 42 and 45?Brume wrote: Also please note all disks have been verified and are fully working. No corrupted data, no crap things, quality is better than quantity![]()

Business Card Creator
In the early nineties, WH Smith had a cabinet that created business cards to your own design. It had a colour monitor, printer and computer. The cabinet was an upright and grey in colour. One day, when it was being maintained/refilled, I saw the computer inside was an Atari ST! - either a STFM or ST...

Hard to say. 1/3 of all the images i have are [a]'s and 's and about 5,000 disks are unrenamed. With th...

A number of the GAU disks are single sided but you will need to copy the images on to a disk from a PC (Dos/W95/W98 work best) If you have access to a PC and STeem you can create single sided disks by dragging and dropping files on to a single sided image and then copying to disk. Pacifist can copy ...
