Re: Shadow Of The Beast Parallax Demo STOS
is there meant to be rasters in the sky? As on Hatari there appears to be scanlines flickering at set points due to sync issues?
nice job by the way, i think this will turn in to a bigger project for you

Is this possibly down to age of Hardware and Monitor? I don't recall this issue back in the day, and the Atari Monitors were specifically really good, black and in focus

Re: Sinclair QL
thank you for that site, i've never seen it.
QL dumps seems to be a business still .. £5 a Game. The problem with the QL, is that you can't unzip files on Windows, as it breaks the EXE headers.
Hopefully with that archive release, MDV images will spread.

Something else ... I've got loads of original games in the box with my QL but the website i've found wants £5 for MDV versions, which is a bit much in my opinion.

Re: Sinclair QL
yeah i've read that .. bit of a catch 22 situation sadly. it's how you get the unzip on the QL in the first place as it's zipped!!
I'd love to see a MDV version of the QL games Cartridge that came with the QL. Many an hour on Pirate or Breakout!

that's great.
as an owner since 86, I'd love to see some QL games appear in digital format for use in Emulators.

Good to see Onslaught in there Dal. Were did you get the info that it had been released on X360 and iPhone? I can't find any screenshot of it running on those platforms, anywhere!

as far as I can tell it never got a release, though? I can not see any screenshots, only text about it.charliesgames wrote:Cheers!
Saw the 360 version, though i think it's an indie remake rather than a port/emulation. Could be wrong there though.
Cheers

back in the day, I remember pining for this game, because it was STE only, and I was desperate for a title that at least used the hardware scrolling. It still wasn't as good as the Amiga version

Re: OutRun, positively surprised
the problem is sprite scaling, and the cycles it takes to get right.
buggy boy, harley davidson and eliminator are good examples of good coding.
to be fair, the title screen in outrun is good. and as i remember, a PC1 on the disk you can load in to degas and edit!!

Re: Onslaught
anyone any ideas about the XBox360 version of this? the MegaDrive version of quite good, but doesn't have the atmosphere of the ST / Amiga one. I think it's partly because of the light pastel palette they've used. http://www.mobygames.com/images/shots/l/270266-onslaught-genesis-screenshot-an-enemy-s...

I just love these old game pictures - they set the scene, and give you a viewpoint of the game from another angle.

Just seen this pic, apparently from the ST version .. But I've never seen this screen before .. Tried the Crack and Pasti original .. Re: Kick Off Ste - anyone interested to enchance
Stupid comment. So should we all just fire up the Amiga versions of Giana Sisters, Pac-Mania and R-Type? you're missing the point. Kick off on the ST had great scrolling and screen size anyway. The other re-writes have beefed up the originals to a great extent. I had an STe as a kid, and always wis...

i think these STe re-writes are great, but in this case, I would just fire up the Amiga version. It would have to offer something the Amiga version didn't to make the work worthwhile, IMO!

Thanks for this really nice update!
Surely, the biggest outstanding game to not receive a bit of love is Shadow of the beast! The ST version was probably the worst
