Re: Pera Putnik (AtariZol / Petari etc.)'s HDD games on STEEm SSE
Running with TOS 1.00 may not be a good idea? Pera claims they work with all versions of TOS. I know v1.00 is buggy but quite a few old games only run on the original '85/6 ST setup. Also be sure to use UK TOS and not US (50hz refresh rate consideration, as ST games are mainly EU). I had a feeling ...

Pera Putnik (AtariZol / Petari etc.)'s HDD games on STEEm SSE
I wonder if anyone can share with me any experiences of their successes or otherwise that they've had attempting to get these to run on SSE. I have a project in mind but so far I've only had 1 out of 3 games run without crashing to GEM desktop. To be fair Pera does mention on the site that his newer...

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
I've just noticed the PP disks are up on Stonish now. But not the Krappy Compact? Unless I missed it. Didn't know about that unnumbered (PP_A) disk before too.

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
I have more than 1400 floppy disk with game menus. What should I do with them? Where have you been, sir! This thread is more than 6 years old now! How to see/compare my disk with existing archives? Check the first post of this thread on page 1. I see that you mention petari (PP) "program ...

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Great to hear from you, Brume; thank you. Some interesting stuff there. Are you saying the "roasters" (rosters) ;) on original commercial release disks are detected by the tool as correct?! That must surely mean that all PP disks went out untouched then, as far as those high-scores / saved games go,...

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Couple of questions: Were the posts I made back in May of any use? I never had any responses back then so I wasn't sure if I was doing everything correctly. Of course everyone had much more pressing issues to deal with during the time of the beginnings of lockdowns and furloughs and such but I would...

Re: Super Hang-On Enhancements
Heh, the Miggy sounds... a bit poo TBH! Eh, it's OK but underwhelming; disappointing; some voices sound slightly flat. The compression on the ST makes it sound somehow beefier, which is what it needs. Same goes for the in-game tunes. Now I've got to find the extracted files for the ST intro somewhere.

Re: Super Hang-On Enhancements
Sorry, I'm not following exactly what you said. Do you mean there are samples playing through software as a MOD file or similar, rather than a single file in a wave-form? That's amazing if that's the case; I just assumed it was some trickery with the YM chip to play a recording. Of course it's an in...

2/2 Patched disks
PP 6 - Complains of having not been patched to include a trainer and about DESKTOP.INF (irrelevant?). When patched still shows this discrepancy. 1/2 Disks that can be considered OK?
PP 4 - If Sledge had a slightly different version of the file and Alien acknowledged this then that disk is OK, surely? PP_13_4A_00001.png PP 22 - The pilot roster is the equivalent of a save file so again I very much doubt an original will be found. These disk images date from 1998. PP_13_4A_00004...

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
The Little Green Desktop CD's PP #3 only has a problem with one of the high score files. As the doc for the checker says- "...it's almost certainly really OK, just different from my copy!" [the Alien's originals]. And I VERY much doubt we'll find one of those! I'm working through the rest of the dis...

@dlfrsilver Any joy? I've done some searching for disks on auction sites, online local marketplaces etc. and it's not the best of times right now let's just say. Here for example is this lucky chancer's listing . OK I get that nobody's working with Covid and everything but this guy, after his 5 boxe...

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
This doesn't have anything to do with the switch to the newly released STE that happened half way through the Pirates's run of disks does it? They re-released the early CDs to make them compatible so wouldn't the old ones fail on said newer hardware? I expect you're already aware of all this and I'm...

I have an itching to dump more disks again now I have a (somewhat) reliable two floppy XP box (somewhat) available. I think I'm done with my collection as it stands but what with Corona, I may do some eBaying for disks. No promises though, sorry. can you put here the menu disk with cloud kingdoms ? ...

Re: Stonish.net - Atari ST Menu disks (Euroswap, FOFT, SFX...)
Me again, some time has passed... Just a quickie to say that PaSTi on both hardware was unsuccessful unfortunately. No improvements on what I'd already managed to achieve. Cloud Kingdoms fails to load on anything sadly, but at least the menu is intact. Oh, and turns out that IK+ 'glitch' is well kno...

Re: [Project] Scroll Texts
I use MSA Converter to get at each disk's contents which I can "Read" which saves each file to a temporary directory which I can access with STEEm SSE. I've then often got to decompact the menu PRG and I've found most success with Synergy Giga 2.1 although I've tried a few including Mega and Naughty...
