Re: Burning Falcon ROMs

Thanks for the programming info everyone! I have v10.55 of the software & the default values are also 13.0V and 100us, whereas the datasheet clearly shows 12.5V & 50us. I'll make sure I fix that. Because eBay pictures are probably not going to stay forever, I realised that posting a link to eBay is ...

You didn't provide a link, so I can't say. Re: Burning Falcon ROMs

The standard 44-pin plcc adapters for the TL866 all around eBay and such needs some soldering to get them working. As you pointed out 4 pins are not connected. So you need connecting pins 12 and 13 together and pins 33 and 34 on the plcc socket. I just acquired a TLS866II with a basic set of adapte...

Before I throw it out ...

Does anyone have a use for a complete set of original TOS 1.00 (US) ROMs? Seems unlikely, but before I throw them out, I thought I'd give the absolute fanatic Atari collectors a chance. No cost (except actual shipping from Canada).

Re: EmuTOS 1.0

The EmuTOS developers are pleased to announce the release of EmuTOS 1.0.1. This is a release to fix a serious bug which fortunately can only affect a very small set of users. The bug (and the bug fix) only applies if ALL the following are true: - you are running on real Falcon hardware - you have 4M...

Re: For Sale - FloppyShop CD's for Falcon

That's tough, I hope you made copies of the others! In my case, the errors on CD#3 were recovered by running a program of my own which did a raw sector copy up to the first error. Then retrying from that error worked again for a while, and gave me a second piece. I eventually ended up with 5 pieces ...

Re: For Sale - FloppyShop CD's for Falcon

Hi! Just saw this. Are these all readable? I ask because I have all of these (and also FaST Club CD#3) as the original CDs, and several were unreadable when I tried recently. Fortunately I had backup copies of most, and for CD#3, I managed to recover it using some custom software of my own, but my c...

Re: EmuTOS 1.0

Does the Falcon DSP work with EmuTOS? (on real hardware) EmuTOS does not (yet) support any XBIOS DSP calls. So if a DSP application uses the XBIOS to set up the DSP (which I assume most would), it wouldn't (yet) run under EmuTOS. Of course, if it just accesses the hardware directly, EmuTOS doesn't ...

Re: EmuTOS 1.0

What does it mean "Significant parts of the VDI have been rewritten in C for greater maintainability" speed-wise? The speed is more-or-less the same. Some specific cases (as measured by my own special-purpose test programs): . text rotation: about 3% faster for 180 degree rotation; about 10% slower...

This was a bug in EmuTOS. It's now fixed in the online repository; you can download the latest snapshot binaries from here: https://sourceforge.net/projects/emutos/files/snapshots/. And thanks to Decky for the original problem report & to Thorsten Otto for posting it on the EmuTOS mailing list! A re...

Re: TimeWorks 2 Publisher on Hatari

Hi folks, Just looking in here because this thread was mentioned on the EmuTOS mailing list. I found a legal copy of Timeworks 2 that I had been given many years ago by another user. I installed it using Hatari 2.2.1 (4MB MegaSTe emulation, mono monitor) and TOS 2.06 on a Linux system. It initialise...

Re: Assembler video tutorials on Vretrocomputing

anyone tell me how to use assembler directive "ST" ? There is an assembler instruction 'ST', but I don't think there is an assembler directive 'ST', at least in DevPac. In case it isn't obvious, the difference between an instruction and a directive, is: . an instruction: is translated by the assemb...

Re: EmuTOS 0.9.11

Thanks! Keep up the great work! I'm still hoping for it to someday fully support the Falcon030 hardware. Me too :-). There's a lot of work to be done first, including CICON and Truecolor support, but we'll get there eventually. Truecolor is probably the biggest job, since it affects almost every VD...

I haven't tried, for the main reason that, AFAIK, the ACSI & SCSI ports on the FireBee don't work (yet).

Re: New FTP client available

Anyway: As Roger made clear, PFTP was developed with TOS, not MiNT, in mind. Yes, thats clear. But it might also be an good opportunity to check whether the gluestik program of mint of mint works as expected. The missing output seems indeed have to do with buffering, and/or the way toswin2 works. p...

Just tried it on Aranym+Mint+GlueStik, without success :( Both programs just hang, i don't even get the starting message. Is that supposed to work? Never used GlueStik so far. Network access otherwise works, using mintnet drivers. I also noticed that the Run/Malloc from fastram flags are not set fo...

Re: New FTP client available

Thank you, Roger! We Lightning VME developers use PFTP to benchmark the speed of the STinG network driver simply because it is the fastest FTP program. And I should mention that Christian pointed out a problem with a previous version when connecting to certain servers (which is now fixed) and encou...
