SF314 PSU dead - repair or replace?

I have a SF314 but the PSU does not give any current (tested with multimeter).

I can't figure out how to open the PSU - and have no idea if there is a fuse or something in there. Would it be a good idea to try to open it or just go for a replacement? Is it possible to buy a replacement somewhere?

Cable for monitor 13 pin DIN -> 4 x BNC (RGB+Sync) + audio?

I got a 20 inch Sony PWM-2054QM proffesional CRT monitor. It would be fun to run Atari ST/STE in color on this screen, but I can't find any cables which is pure Atari STE to separate BNC for RGB and sync. The closest I get is this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/SONY-PVM-MONITOR-4-x-BNC-2-x-PHONO-INPUT-TO...

Re: What about Zaxon ?....

I ordered and paid for ultrasatan + netusbee in december 2011, sent an e-mail one week ago, no reply, so it is good to get info here that Zaxon is alive and going on and that we may expect the holy grail of modern st hardware one day in the future. But would be great with direct feedback anyhow, but...

Any way to get an UltraSatan without building it myself?

I have always missed the time windows when it was possible to order UltraSatan, and I am not able to build it myself. When searching eBay, there is never a hit for Ultrasatan. Is there any way to get hold of one, I am beginning to think that the only way is to hire someone that can build one from th...

Re: Unreleased demo from 1990 - works in Steem 3.2

[quote="BoNuS"] I think there is still al lot of nice/good stuff hidden on HD's. Never released stuff or what programmers/GFX/Musicians believe is not good enough quote] I can confirm that. This demo was never released partly due to that I always think I had to improve it, add effects, optimize the ...

Re: Demo with two resolutions on the same screen

I tried your demo under Hatari (version 1.2 that should be released shortly). Only the middle scrollers are OK, because Hatari for now has problem with mixed resolution in STE mode with hardware scroll. Maybe it will be fixed in time for 1.2 Interesting. I tried to run it in version 1.1, made an ST...

Re: daily jobs

Some of the old sceners which I was in touch in in the old 8/16 bit days (c64, atari st and amiga) are now in sofware firms like Yahoo, Google, Opera, Funcom and others. So I would say that those who were above average in programming back in these days have a higher probability of being part of the ...

Unreleased demo from 1990 - works in Steem 3.2

Hi, found this file with a typical oldskool demo which I made back in 1990, which was never released. The scroll text is somewhat embarassing to read today, but I was only 16 years old at that time :-) Download from http://thordarson.no/share-out/kaos_st.zip It is a .prg file, just unzip and run in ...

Re: Demo with two resolutions on the same screen

Strange, the main menu of the Demounstures demo has also both low and medium res and it works without problem under Steem. Display settings: Borders: Always Show Borders Low resolution: Double Size - No Stretch Medium Resolution: Double Height - No Stretch Hans Wessels I tried these settings, but i...

Demo with two resolutions on the same screen

Hi, I found some old demos I wrote almost twenty years ago, being in the norwegian group OUCH. I found ut they worked partially on Steem (the latest release), but this one does not work properly. I am not sure if anyone has done this ting before: changing resolution in the middle of the screen. The ...

Hm, I would guess the cause is either that the scart cable carries only the composite video signal or that your TV does not take RGB signals? Not all TVs can use RGB. When I bought my last CRT TV in 1996, I bought a more expensive model because it had RGB on 1 of the 2 scart inputs giving better pic...

Ah, thank you! Then I will use RGB via scart. Was a bit worried there. No much fun in monochrome only when demos are your thing you know :)

 now I saw if I just had read the sticky topic about monitors up here it was explained there... ehhm

Mega ST - does it also output composite signal?

I tried to attach a Mega ST to a television using a monitor cable which ends in a RCA jack for the composite (video) signal. This cable works fine with an 1040 STFM, but the Mega ST only goes black. (The Mega ST works fine with a monochrome SM124, so the machine itself is working.) Is the composite ...

I see you joined Opera Software. So that explains why opera is fast, small and has yet not grown into bloatware. That is because old atari coders now code for opera?? can you put a hidden fujiboink demo screen in Opera??? :D :D If you stay in Oslo, then I think ST Klubben would be one of the most en...

Now I checked out some of the old floppies, and sorry for the wrong information: Hackbear is NOT the same guy as Wizzcat. I just mixed it up in my head. (My first post up here is edited now). Looking for Norwegian stuff - especially OUCH!

Hello, this is my first post here. I have recently taken my old STE from the attic, imported an 1040ST without the E from Sweden, swapped an Amiga 3000 into a Mega ST 4 with internal HDD (what a good swap, huh? :-)), and is now all ready to explore the ST again, and found all my good old source disk...
