Re: Magic OS under the CT63?

IIRC there were also other files to patch - in MagiC's XTENSION folder and perhaps some others. Look carefully into the ct404 archive. Im unsure about that. When I did it last time I ONLY patcheds the one MAGIC.RAM file and used the 060 version of the Magic booter in the AUTO fodler and it just wor...

Re: Magic OS under the CT63?

Yes thank you. I do have the latest CT404 files, but I just dont know why I am failing to get the bloody thing to boot in Magic?
I did it before with zero effort, but now?

Magic OS under the CT63?

My recovery is well on the way after the Hard Disk failure. I have still not been able to get either Mint or Magic back up and running in 060 mode. I know that all I did to get Magic running, was simply use the 060 version of the Booter PRG and Patch the MAGIC.RAM file. The thing is, that NOTHING I ...

HATARI FLoppy images dont like being written to?

I am trying to sort out some images for the Floppy Emulator and I need a few things on Floppies, and things seem to go great, but I try copying files to a .ST Image in Hatari and I keep getting Floppy Write errors? I have a load of .ST images and they seem to read on the Falcon just fine in the Flop...

Can anyone provide .ST images for me for a few things?

This is something that I was wondering about. A great deal of my original disks are kind of iffy, plus, my Falcon no longer has a Floppy Drive. So, getting my Floppies onto .ST or .MSA are kind of near to impossible. I do have copies of some things, but I am also missing others. Not only that, but e...

Re: TT High on LCD Panel (ECL2VGA) Adapter Available

Im terrified as I have bought 2 adapters... ( NOT THESE ONES ) and neither get any display on my TT, on ANY of the monitors I have. One is a multi input VGA/EGA/CGA/RGB to VGA and I wanted that purely to clear up the Colour picture on the TT and the other I didnt care what it did, but its just a VGA...

Re: Falcon issues - very confusing

You need to image the entire disk, not the partitions. I just need to add this. Last night, I backed up the entire HD... 160MB File Just now, I have been playing about in HATARI with the Image and I found out something that has made my smile a tiny little bit. First off, the thing crashed as soon a...

Re: Falcon issues - very confusing

Yes, I have those files. I also took the files from the TT ( Just in case ) and I have also tried the same files from a fairly recent backup. I am not using NVDI at all right now, ;and I think I have removed all the possible files that it put in or uses. I have a sneaky feeling that the PRRG itself ...

Re: Falcon issues - very confusing

Oh of course. I was just being overly paranoid since I dont want to destroy what I do have. Of course yes, use the Image on the Emulartor! - Yo udid say, I just went into idiot mode as soon as I saw it not seeing the partitions, I assumed. --- I have been utterly unable to get Magic running in 060 m...

Re: Falcon issues - very confusing

Before you doing anything else - connect the drive to your Linux PC and make a disk image of the entire disk using dd. Then install Hatari and use (a copy of!) the image as Hatari IDE drive. Do not mess around with the original drive. I cannot make an image of the disk? It sees the disk for sure, b...

Re: Only image for first floppy works?

I am using the USB version.

Ok, I will try the format and redo the files, but I have doen that previously.

Its quite annoying because it does work great with the one first image?

Only image for first floppy works?

I have this working in a semi-useable way. I can ONLY have access to the first floppy image. For that, it seems to work just fine and thats all well and good, but if I try to select any other floppy images, it either fails or shows corrupt info or even crashes the Falcon. I have even tried to copy t...

Re: Falcon issues - very confusing

Well, I think its good now. Many thanks guys. Its not 100% but the falcon is working and I have now got access to everything I was using before this went south. I still have a fair few issues, but the big ones seem to be about sorted. Now if only I could get IDE on my TT I would be a happy little ki...

Yeah good call. I often do data recoveries this way. Never thought about doing it for the Atari too!

Re: Alternate TT hi/VGA adapter

Bugger, probably way too late, but if you have or will consider making more, then I will pay up front for one. I have just bought a multiple input to VGA adapter, thats probably not going to do anything to help, but I am thinking it might be worth a shot. But if I can have a nice display on my TT ag...

Re: Falcon issues - very confusing

Lots of files on the Falcons IDE seem to be corrupted. I have been able to use CuBase Audio again. and I have doen this without any hanging or crashing for a good few hours while testing. Copying my data from the Falcons IDE has been problematic at best and I have a rotten feeling that my more recen...

Re: BIGDOS thoughts...

Well, the original idea WAS to use Cubase Audio as teh wife asked me to do some vocals with it, and so a 2GFB Partition would be better than a 1GB one. I am awared that I cnau se the files asjust samples, and that does work fine with IDE and I have been doing that, but he recording needs SCSI. Im no...

Re: Falcon issues - very confusing

Well, first day test. The new SCSI Cable has arrfived. I have used the TT with Magic v6.2 on its own SCSI Drive, and I have used a new SATA Disk ( Sorry but yes, its on an IDE to SATA adapter for the Falcon ) and I have made the paritions for it on the Falcon, and made it bootable. I then connected ...

Re: BIGDOS thoughts...

Well, clearly I am a total liar. The TT does indeed have a couple of 1GB Partitions but no, it does NOT let me read them with BIGDOS, or GEM... Just Magic. I am clearly mistaken there! I am also running through a Falcon issue and the HD seems to be going a bit iffy and so I am NOT going to mess abot...

Re: Falcon issues - very confusing

Yes indeed. However... I am not 100% sure if the files that I am using ARE perfect. That is why I want to use the TT to do the copying, so that I will have the absolutely best possible chance of me using the best possible files. I am waiting for the replacement SCSI cable ( external ) and I will als...

Re: Falcon issues - very confusing

Well, ok, I have now found that the cable I need for the TT external SCSI is playing up... So, I have a new one on the way. BIGDOS thoughts...

Right, I am about to have a small piddle about on my TT, but I want to know a few things. Firstly, I have had a few issues with trying to get big partitions on it. What I am going to do, is setup as big a partition as I can under normal TOS/GEM. If I can have 2 or 3 then sure, so be it. But I see th...

Re: Recording Voice with CuBase Audio

I thought Cubase Audio Falcon doesn't work with IDE drives. I think you need a SCSI drive for audio recording. That's why C-Lab Falcons usually have SCSI instead of IDE. No, only with SCSI. I had been using CAF for years with the Audio playback ability but never needed to actually record until rece...
