Re: Genesis Core

Been doing some investigating into why Sonic 2s music is off tempo with turbo enabled. Turns out Sonic 2 uses the 68000 to produce music, some enterprising hackers took it upon themselves to rewrite the sound driver for the z80: https://github.com/MainMemory/s2-sound-driver-plus Running this versio...

Re: Help with porting Arduboy core?

Did people forgot how to read? Why need to come back with tearing when it was already answered in couple pages before?? ahh, my question was acknowledging what you had said about the arduboy core and how it disregards vsync, yes. my question was more of a followup and a question to the developer to...

Re: Help with porting Arduboy core?

it could be my HDTV, but i can say that this is the only core that i notice the screen tearing with. i have used the SNES, NES, Neo Geo, and Genesis core, and none of them have screen tearing. as a note, i did try different vsync modes (low lag, match core frequency, match TV frequency) and got the ...

Re: Help with porting Arduboy core?

@uXe thank you so much for the work youve done putting this together, i keep finding fun little timekillers to play and the arduboy definitely has a certain "charm" to it  loading hex files makes things so much easier as well, and it would be great to have a full repo of all the games availa...

Re: Help with porting Arduboy core?

MiSTer treats all HDMI resolutions as resolutions with square pixels. So it's absolutely doesn't matter which resolution you will use. Arduboy will always have 2:1 aspect ratio with either vertical or horizontal bars depending on HDMI resolution. OLED screen has no refresh rate. Well, at least ther...

Re: MiSTer NES Core

Both Battle Kid and Battle Kid 2 work fine for me with the copies I dumped from my carts. The current mapper 30 code assumes 4-screen-vertical means 4 screen mirroring, and 4-screen-horizontal means 1 screen (which agrees with Black Box Challenge). If you did the opposite when you dumped your cart,...

Re: NeoGeo topic

also, are there any plans to add a CPU overclocking option to the neogeo core? something that could help/fix the slowdown in games like metal slug, twinkle star sprites, & blazing star? i know this is just how the games were made and the slowdown is also on original hardware, but something similar t...
