Re: MISTer (Main Core)

It's not general issue. It's issue of chameleon input devices like 8bitdo. It may even have different buttons codes between wired and wireless connections. So, it's "normal" for such gamepad. So then why does it work as expected in every other core but the main menu? If this was a controller issue ...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next sources released

There is already a project underway to port the ZX Spectrum Next to MiST / MiSTer https://www.facebook.com/fmosqueraferrandiz/videos/10222956747530143/ The tricky bits being SRAM -> SDRAM conversion and Machine ID's for software compatibility. didn't you see this link was posted already some time a...

Re: SDRAM board

No configuration needed. Are you certain you didn't plug it in backwards or something? You know, someone may laugh at this, but I realised it's a challenge to figure out which way things go. Luckily for me, "this side faces outward" was indicative enough to avoid mistakes. I agree it would have bee...

Re: SDRAM board

Hi all, would you say that I am correct to assume that adding an SDRAM board does not require any configuration? Just for transparency, I've got a 128Mb v2.5 that core does not see. Basically, memtest shows 100% failure (multiple versions, all speeds), as if I didn't plug the board in. Cheers No co...

I was under the impression that the JPAC didn't handle both players well? Or does it?

Re: Jamma Board

For me the purpose would be to drop in replace the boards I have in my existing cab. They are slowly failing and graphical glitches abound. In general there has been a lot of talk and hacked solutions for putting MiSTer in JAMMA cabs, but to date nobody seems to have a plug and play solution. It wou...

Re: Jamma Board

Can you put in the standard plugin for the kick harness? Is there any way to add a couple buttons for other functions like OSD? These would make it nearly drop in on my existing SF2CE cab. Awesome work, been waiting for a product like this. Especially if it can be totally supported directly in the M...

Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

I worked for an arcade machine repair shop for several years back in the 90's, and while I didn't work on CRT's myself the tech who did swore they could be damaged this way. That was 20 years ago and he's not around anymore, so I did a quick search and this is the only explanation I found: https://r...

Re: DB9 Vs USB game control tests

I know of the script but I was wondering if there was any technical reason for it not being default as it is touted as the future of MiSTer input. Are there any bugs or incompatibilities that 1ms polling introduces that would prevent it from being the default? Apparently some gamepads have issues w...

Re: N64 Core WIP

If they do go the special board route, it would be nice if they simply built a more generic expansion board for other additions beyond just this one. I don't have much interest in a world where I'd have to rip my MiSTer apart just to play certain systems. Although some sort of a plugin cartridge st...

There is already Astrocade core for MiSTer: https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Astrocade_MiSTer What's difference? Hi! Yes, I am from Portugal :) The Mister VIP FTP is an ftp that has the file structure of the SD card and users upload VHD packs for MSX, Amiga, in the scripts folder you can find the update scripts that you need and so on :) I have no idea what MiSTer VIP is but sounds kinda sketchy. I would reco...

Re: names.txt, let's make one

Let's make a perfect names.txt. I will start with this list I just put together with the help of a friend: The "names.txt" needs to be in the root of the Micro-SD. EDIT: There seems to be a bug with the name matching. In "Console" I get "Atari Pong (Arcade)" twice and the normal "Pong" is missing. ...

Re: ZX Spectrum Next sources released

It always strikes me odd how this community keeps pushing people away, unless they "have the skills to build a core". That's really not what's happening here. There is a deficit of programmers who are able to program cores (many self-taught), and they all have their own pet projects already. There ...

Re: Best core for watching video?

Perhaps it is possible to run Kodi on the ARM core and use the FPGA for decoding the video. 8) Not seriously suggesting this, but if the ARM chip were powerful enough to do any serious decoding, I'd love to have a Moonlight client so I could just stream games from another system. The use for me wou...
