Re: X68000 core

Amazing news!
Thanks to dshadoff for his help and of course most of all a huge thank you to puu for porting this core.

Re: MSX core

Actually it looks like all the BIOS are already in the MiSTer MSX core. I think the problem is that TurboR games are in .dsk format, and Sofarun can only apply machine TurboR settings to .rom files, so launching .dsk TurboR games leads to the compatibility error messages. If anyone has successfully ...

This could be the case. In what folder should the BIOS be placed when using a VHD image?

I had tried that before and double checked again just now, and setting the CPU type to R800 makes no difference. At least on my SofaRun VHD image, .dsk TurboR games still give the "this softwear is TurboR exclusive" error message.

Re: MSX core

From what you got it? TurboR is supported many years already. May be there a some bugs, but i'm not into MSX, so have no idea. The features section of the Readme for this core lists support for "MSX2/Plus/3", without mentioning TurboR. Also the last time I tried to run TurboR roms they displayed th...

The current MiSTer MSX core doesn't support TurboR games, right? Does the more updated MiST core?

The crispness of RGB + (some) of the blending of composite = as close to Mega Drive perfection as we've ever been

This is tempting me to turn my model 1 MD into a pure shelf decoration piece. I'd put it in the closet but it still looks too cool to stash away.

Re: PC Engine core

For so long we've had to deal with finicky CD drives, aging caps, interference noise, and no RGB output without mods in the original hardware, or compromises with emulation. Maybe not for much longer, again thanks to the amazing MiSTer project!

X68000 is a gem and needs to be enjoyed by more people. The barrier to entry for original HW is sadly very high.
Thank you for any kind of contribution in reviving this core!

@naytai
Most cheap HDMI to VGA adapters will support progressive 15khz, as long as they are simple DACs and not scalers.

Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

If you want to be overly careful you could put something like an Extron RGB interface with a LED display in your chain, which will show the frequency being input, and then you can manually connect/enable the last connection to the monitor after confirming it's within the monitor's range. Though this...

Re: GBA Core porting to Mister

@FPGAzumSpass Thanks for the info and suggestions! I think I figured it out. The Everdrive keeps a larger "rambckup01.fla" file that I guess it uses for games loaded via fast load (pressing START on the ED menu to load the last played game), and probably also when loading the game from the "recently...

Re: GBA Core porting to Mister

I'm encountering a strange issue when trying to use a save file generated by an Everdrive X5 to the GBA core. I've been playing some Mother 3 and the EDX5 stored the save file as a .fla file. I renamed it .sav for the MiSTer GBA core and it can load it, however the content is from when I saved about...

Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

You seem confused about this (...), let me clarify: the monitors (PVM 20M2U and Commodore 1084s) do not "damage themselves",it's your suggestion to use directvideo + HDMI converter that allows damaging frequencies to be fed to the monitors, and this is a problem for anyone using 15Khz CRTs. This is...

Re: Request - Show info of the ROMs (Headers, sha1sum, crc32, etc...) in selection menu roms trigger with a button

Request - create a general request topic for all request posts like this to gather, and make it easier to shoot them down

Joking aside, for TC's particular need related to NES ROM headers, it's better at this time to simply use the 2.0 header ROM set.

Yes, for any core just add this in the mister.ini file

It may be better to handle stretching on your TV rather than force an alternative resolution though.

Problem is that the devs are stuck with a "get better cooling" opinion on this one. On a related note, "MSU1 is bad, Blisster sucks, NEOCD support is not worth it because it just has one extra game" ... And so on... You probably beed to take a break from these forums, since basically every single p...
