Re: Alternative ZIP packers/depackers for Atari?

Yep, you're correct, -mstrict-align is the default for a plain 68k.
BTW, passing -mno-strict-align to gcc allows to reproduce the issue.

Re: Alternative ZIP packers/depackers for Atari?

There is a gcc flag to tell the compiler not to assume that unaligned memory references will be handled by the system: -mstrict-align.
According to this script http://tho-otto.de/download/mint/build-unzip-6.0.sh, it is not set.
Could be worth give it a try...

Re: Street Fighter II - Strange Bug (real hardware)

The original copy can be found on Atari Mania: http://www.atarimania.com/game-atari-st ... 11417.html
Can be tested on an emulator with STX format support (Steem / Hatari).

Re: Decreasing colours (algorithm)

It might be more interesting to have a sound at around 15kHz, which corresponds to an interrupt per line, so it can be the same than for the palette. Yep, a single interrupt per scanline is better, but not sufficient. When the first instruction of the HBL handler is executed, there is about 100 cyc...

Re: Decreasing colours (algorithm)

Playing a 9600Hz digi-sound means the replay routine should be executed 192 times per VBL. Changing the palette every line means changing it 200 times per VBL. If you use interrupts for both the replay routine (Timer-A) and the color changes (HBL), it will be difficult to avoid interrupts jitter (le...

Re: Atari-Forum is now Atari-Legends?

This message was posted on FB: Hey all. From what I understand, Brume is trying to get all services to one hosting company of all our projects (AF, AL and Stonish). So webspace, DNS...and there seems to be a mixup now. Also, Brume had to leave on Holiday for a week, so I am afraid it can stay awhile...
