Re: NeoGeo topic
Those .neo ones are fine, a lot of us use them, easier to work with than the romsets.xml method

Re: Neo-Geo Core
Hi everyone. I'm getting graphical glitches in The King of Fighters '94. Is there a way to tell if this is simply how it is with this core in its current state, or if it's an error on my part? Due to settings or file issues. I've gone through all messages in this thread thoroughly, so I'm sure I ha...

In general with Mister, even when Autosave is ON you still need to open the OSD before it saves

Re: NeoGeo topic
I was wondering, would it be possible for the core to reproduce a multi-slot MVS? Obviously the even higher memory footprint of loading multiple games would make it unpractical, but it would be an interesting novelty nonetheless? I'd love this :D I've done that in MAME before, kind of pointless but...

Re: NeoGeo topic
there is only 1 game that i have noticed odd behavior with, and that is samurai shodown 5 x (special). the NeoGeo logo and bios load just fine, no graphical errors, but when the actual game boots up, there are 2 horizontal flickering pixelated lines that run across the screen. one on the top 3rd an...
Re: SNES core
I did lots of testing and found that's the most recent version that doesn't exhibit the issue. I can 100% reproduce these results with the versions after that one: DE10 w/ no heatsink or fan = video corruption DE10 w/ copper heatsink = video corruption DE10 w/ a large desktop fan pointed at the nano...

Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!
"The converter on picture is preferable because you can easily disassemble it to add some mods like sync-on-green or add 5V power to pin-9." Anyone got any tips for doing this? I can't even work out how to open mine without breaking it, so tips on that would be a start... (it's the one with the tai...

Re: NeoGeo topic
If you want to use an original BIOS from a different region you can grab them from the following 2 MAME zips. Here's a list of each BIOS as it's named in MAME, and the corresponding file. For Console/AES rename your file to 'neo-epo.sp1' , or Arcade/MVS it's 'sp-s2.sp1' . Obviously you can change re...

Re: IOBoard VGA to 15khz PAL CRT via RGB Scart
I just checked the Genesis core in both 50hz and 60hz, compared to real hardware, and there are no problems. I'll spare you the screenshots but both PAL and NTSC look exactly the same on MiSTer versus real hw. So I think it's just an issue with a few particular cores, maybe they will be improved in ...

Re: IOBoard VGA to 15khz PAL CRT via RGB Scart
Is it possible the MiSTer device is outputting a PAL signal as a 60hz/NTSC scaled PAL image rather than a native PAL image No, Mister properly displays 50 in pal and 60 in ntsc, you can see the size (number of lines) change. The aspect ratio and speed is fine as far as I can see, it's just not cent...

Re: IOBoard VGA to 15khz PAL CRT via RGB Scart
Similar issue with vertical centering in the C64 core, but this time it displays too low down, leaving a larger border on the top than the bottom. https://i.imgur.com/5OoAOam.jpg (Ignore difference with horizontal shifting, that's due to composite vs rgb scart, likely colour difference is due to tha...

Re: IOBoard VGA to 15khz PAL CRT via RGB Scart
MiSTer seems to be incorrect https://i.imgur.com/53S0tDy.jpg From what I can see it's not squashed but Mister is displaying the image too high on the SMS core. I only have my Mega Drive to check so it's possible the MD displays it wrong, but I've seen mister on other cores doing a similar thing. Btw...

Re: Newbie questions
Ok thanks everyone, I did what sqwirral and tenshin2002 suggested (grabbing the xml file in the right place and "saving as" instead of copy and paste) and it is now working! :) However, for every game I launch, there is a message saying "not enough memory. graphics will be corrupted" (I have a 128s...

Re: Newbie questions
Your files look okay to me. neo-epo.sp1 and sp-s2.sp1 are not required if you're using uni-bios.rom, so they're not the issue. I would grab romsets.xml again from the github, and open it in a text editor to make sure it looks correct. So, I did that (from here: https://github.com/furrtek/Neogeo_MiS...

Re: Newbie questions
I am using the Unibios and I am not sure if the sp1 files are needed but the readme says they MUST be there so they will stay there. That's what I initially thought too about the Unibios. I did what BigMax740p suggested and renamed the sp-e.sp1 files, and tried to get the same bios from another sou...

Re: Genesis Core
Hi can anybody explain this issue? When I load MegaMan the Wily Wars it runs too slow unless I set the Core to US. But this game is a European release that was never released in the US. Re: Regarding Portable Console Scaling
If you use the I/O board or the direct video option in MiSTer you will have unscaled analogue RGB 240p output on your display. Just beware, since portable consoles doesn't output CRT signal, If you want to play those game on a CRT you have to go thru the internal scaler and forced to 480p. GBA outp...
