Re: NeoGeo topic

This is interesting .neo files are roms taken from the NeoSD multicart from Terraonion, they need a proprietary program to convert a .zip into a .neo although they might work, they aren't the romset you should look for maybe you should try the Darksoft romset because the romset.xml is tailored to be...

Re: NeoGeo topic

@Brendle I’ve read your initial message, it’s too bad you sold your original games I haven’t encountered any major issue with the Neogeo core though, have you tested your sdram board ? I’ve prepped a few MiSTer setups for friends and they all are Neogeo collectors and enthousiasts and as far as I ca...

Re: NeoGeo topic

@Mlaurito you should search who made the Neogeo core possible first I'm not asking anyone to make a Neogeo cd core, I'm just giving my personal insight to the fact that Neogeo CD could be a challenging project and that there's more that meets the eye when you try the games and compare to the cart ve...

Re: NeoGeo topic

Hi Sorgelig, as a Neogeo enthousiast, I beg to differ, while it is true there is only 1 exclusive game (Samurai Rpg) and some larger games were somehow crippled due to the video Ram limitation of the neocd Cd games also have additional content such as arranged music tracks, more ways to play a game ...

Re: NeoGeo topic

when you update, make sure you also update the MiSTer, the menu core I've read some similar issues from old MiSTer firmware and so on as long as you get the right roms with the right gamelist.xml file and the right bios you shouldn't have any issues at all. if so, try to delete the config folder (it...

Re: NeoGeo topic

If you use unibios and have a uni-bios.rom in your neogeo folder you don’t need neither the sp-s2.sp1 rom (euro mvs bios) nor the neo-epo.sp1 (export aes bios) In addition, several bios files must be placed in the NEOGEO folder for the core to function properly: 000-lo.lo sfix.sfix sp-s2.sp1 (MVS) n...

Re: Backup Ram Error

You usually get backup ram error when there’s no bios available for the requested mode Make sure you rename your mvs bios sp-s2.sp1 And your AES bios into neo-epo.sp1 Or just select unibios in the neogeo core and make sure the unibios is present and renamed correctly Hello I am getting "backup ram e...

Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

hi guys, I'm happy to report that the Rankie hdmi to vga adapter is working just fine not sure whether I would see any difference between 18 bit color mode from the VGA IO board and the 24 bit color mode from the hdmi output, but sound is clearly better at least :) cheers guys and keep up the good w...

Re: Neo Geo Core 1080p not working

On a 4K tv try setting a higher resolution using custom resolutions for neogeo in your mister.ini file Here’s the topic http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=117&t=35169 It was my specific HDMI port. I was able to get it running on my TV in 1080p but not in my one and only 4K port - which happe...

Re: NeoGeo topic

Yeah I’ve heard of this project, if I’m not mistaken it’s the Fullset Team who is developping this game, haven’t tested it yet though, I’m giving it a try :) I believe this shmup is the first Neogeo game in vertical screen orientation « Tate » Can’t wait to see DoDonPachi ported on the MiSTer :) hi ...

Re: NeoGeo topic

That problably means some of the bios files have issues or aren’t renamed correctly, for instance sp-s2.sp1 is fine, but neo-epo.rom has to be renamed neo-epo.sp1

Give it a try by enabling unibios in the core settings

Re: NeoGeo topic

It’s still possible to rename a japanese bios to run as the required s2-p2.sp1 or neo-epo.sp1 (which are referred as european for the mvs and export for the aes) Just rename a mvs jap bios or the aes jap bios to get it working :) I think most people know the benefits using a japanese bios : no censo...

Afaik, Razoola stopped selling his unibios for personal reasons, but you still can download the 3.3 version for free, he just told that were he to unable to continue developping the unibios, he would make the unibios 4.0 available for free this year I hope he would still developping and continuing t...

Re: NeoGeo topic

Yes you need the .xml file alongside the roms in separate folders Go to the neogeo core github and get the xml file and enjoy ! Hmmm - copied in the folder that i had (alledgedly the right one) but it just lists the roms as sub folder and if say for example i go into kof2 the directory is empty....i...

Re: NeoGeo topic

In MVS mode in MiSTer menu you can enable dipswitches settings from the MiSTer menu and then return to the menu to disable dipswitch settings But in AES mode and using unibios, press ABC at launch to access the unibios settings and you can also set the dipswitches directly from there, that’s my pref...

Re: Neo Geo "bad contact" error message

Hi this is most likely a unibios error, try using a normal neo-epo.sp1 (aes) bios or a sp-s2.sp1 bios (mvs) instead of the unibios For the neogeo core to work you need both the .xml file and the darksoft romset Have fun guys the neogeo core is very acurate to the real thing, I even made an usb encod...

Re: Zero Delay USB Encoder

@jca why not stick to the usb stick ?
you can incorporate a MiSTer into a usb arcade stick, I don't know what are the prices in Curacao but definitely it would be easier in your case

Re: Zero Delay USB Encoder

Thanks witchmaster, I was about to make a similar project based on a Teensy or a arduino nano, since I want something that would result in the lowest input lag possible

The USB overclocking already gives good results but I would definitely try your work on arduino.
