Re: doom runs on the FPGA

That is what I referred to as Linux Doom as it is running on the Arm Linux core on the SoC. That and I am not a fan of PrBoom, it isn't accurate like chocolate or crispy doom nor does it have the networking of Zandronum nor the visual flare of GZDoom. It is the source port that I don't even know wh...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

chmod did it :D Thanks I should have posted more information and a least SSH to see that midilink was not an executable but I had to make my post really fast due to an emergency call from the office. Sunday and Monday have been really busy with soft PBX, SIP phones, servers and IP cameras. Murphy sa...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

I posted on the Atari thread but will also post here. With the new midilink MIDI does not work any longer for me. Am I the only one?

Re: Atari ST core

When Sorge posted the new midilink.zip I tested it for MIDI and posted that MIDI is no longer working for me. Am I the only one with the problem?

Re: Newbie questions

Can someone lead me to the right direction using the Real Time Clock? I just did a recent update script and now my RTC is unable to be set using the script. I did image my sd card but I do not think that would be the issue. The battery voltage is fine and what is weird with no internet connection i...

Re: Atari ST core

@sorgelig: Forgive the stupid question but where do the files go in your midilink.zip file? Cany you ftp them from a PC to the mister? probably you need to wait for formal release. This is for knowledgeable users. It may even won't work well as i didn't test myself. MIDI seems to be totally broken ...

Re: Atari ST core

Is there a OSD option to switch between MIDI/MFP? How does it know which to use? there is no sprecial OSD option. When UART mode is set to MIDI, then MIDI port is routed to UART. In other UART modes, MFP serial is routed to UART. I was just hoping to be able to manually set this option. For example...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

Problem solved: strange firewall problem. The first time I started UDPMIDI I allowed it for home/work network but not for public network I SSHed and pinged my PC: no go. I went into the firewall settings and saw that I was on a public network. I allowed UDPMIDI on public network and now remote MIDI ...

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

I am the same guy who posted on the Atari thread regarding my first experiments with MIDI. I switched to this thread as it is more relevant to it than the Atari. Ok for the -1 levels, I was just curious. As my settings works locally for MIDI what should I look for after SSHing? Thanks for your work ...

Re: Lion core ported to MiSTer

I really didn't want to dl another browser. I tried Chrome, IE, Edge, and Opera with no luck. I understand that, I am trying to move away from Google and already had Firefox but I still have to set it up properly and tend to use Chrome, Google search. Trying also to move to DuckDuckGo but bad habit...

Re: Lion core ported to MiSTer

Chrome must be broken, even after clearing the cache I still got the old files. No problem with Firefox. Thanks for the update, now the core name is Lion and the VHDs can be placed in games/Lion which is more consistent with the other cores (except the ZX-Spectrum).
Thanks for the new core!

Re: MidiLink 2.0 looking for testers. (no MIDI devices required)

I am trying to setup remote MIDI. On MISTer I did set UART to MIDI, remote, UDP. I also edited the MidiLink.Ini to set the UDP server IP to my PC. On the PC I installed the virtual MIDI cable LoopMIDI, UDPMIDI and MUNT. Is there a special order to start these programs and what virtual connection do ...

Re: Atari ST core

Found a SC-55.sf2: 24.5MB. It sounds better  The volume is lower compared to MUNT and it sounds really tiny on my monitor speakers which are far from the best and not powerful but the Section Z arcade sound is blasting me out of my seat, not really but MIDI sound is so tiny even with the game v...

Re: Atari ST core

Progress made: SSH and Fluidsynth -> Parameter '/media/fat/linux/soundfonts/SC-55.sf2' not a SoundFont or MIDI file or error occurred identifying it. SC-55.sf2 is 141 bytes 8O , so small! Back to the Atari changed MIDI settings in OSD to MUNT -> I got sound :D . Now I have to figure out what went wr...

Re: Atari ST core

FluidSynth uses a ".sf2" soundfonts, not ROMs. MUNT uses the ROMs. If you don't have a ".sf2" configured in the MidiLInk.INI then FluidSynth won't work. It was just an abuse of language, I have the proper files in the right place, thanks to your install script :? These old Sierra games exploit the ...

Re: Atari ST core

So far I am unable to get any MIDI sound. Note: this is the first time I try MIDI so it may not be specific to the Atari ST core. I use an HDMI monitor for sound. The MIDI Link ini file is the original. I have the sound roms in the right places. In the OSD UART I selected MIDI, Local, FluidSynth. On...

Re: Lion core ported to MiSTer

I'm curious if you toggle your forced_scandoubler= between 0 and 1 and/or video_mode= between 0 and 8 does it affect your HDMI video? I will try later during the day. I am using an HDMI monitor so video mode 0 should give 720P@60Hz. I am not familiar with the forced scandoubler option which is for ...
