Re: Direct Bluetooth gamepad support

Broadcom BT allowed me to connect 3 gamepads. CSR usually 2. Thanks for the response. I have progressed a little further and the problem may be not with the devices/chips themselves, but with Linux BT stack having some problem with handling more than two devices connected in SLAVE mode as suggested...

Re: Direct Bluetooth gamepad support

Can anyone provide a model of BT dongle that can support 3 gamepad connections? I have StarTech USBBT1EDR4 Class 1 BT 4.0 based listed as CSR8510 A10 and I can connect max two DS4 gamepads, third always fails to connect, whatever order I try connecting them. Alexey provides some evidence at https://...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Other seed value may get better result. You mean FPGA compiler RNG seed? If so, then sounds bad that we are depending on RNG to get stable build. And of course cooling for de10 reduces such tolerances. Can you please elaborate more on this? Is DE10 going to down-clock when temperature reaches...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

With this monitor driver you can get the following in the DisplayMode program: - HGFX - 1024x768 - HD720 - 1280x720 --> http://aminet.net/package/driver/moni/HighGFX40_6 I was experimenting recently with running WB on Mister AGA with some higher resolution, but failed. The problem is that HD720 is ...

I think I got bad ADF file. With 880K works great. Thank you!

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Does MiSTer Minimig version support writing to ADF disks? Or this is just read-only? Reading upstream Minimig project docs it seems ADF writing is supported.
Btw. This is not a request, just want to confirm there is no ADF write 8)

Re: Direct Bluetooth gamepad support

Basically it's good to shutdown all your BT devise except the one you want to pair. I believe the other device comes from the neighborhood, so there's nothing I can do about it. The radio is extremely cluttered here e.g. finding free WiFi channel is quite challenging. Otherwise you may create some ...

Re: Atari 800 Core - keyboard free operation - Start, Select, Option on Joystick

(...) P.S. There is a “Classic Gaming” Discord chat that apparently has a large group of MiSTer users, it may have a more friendly/helpful feel than the MiSTer forum (haven’t tried it yet myself). I really appreciate your kind response. I will look there too, thanks. Also, there's Facebook group I ...

Re: Direct Bluetooth gamepad support

Btw. I wonder then what shall we do in such a case? Stop, pair first device only, try to pair them all, check if the device is USB joystick class (as long hci can tell us that) or give a choice to the user? WDYT? And is it okay btpair tries to pair anything blindly, even something that may not belon...

Re: Direct Bluetooth gamepad support

Little question, is it known issue that btpair fails with bash syntax error when hcitool reports multiple devices? In such case grep returns multiple MACs separated by new line, then everything gets assigned to single MAC variable, that is later used as if it held only one MAC. I saw that when runni...

Re: Building Linux kernel

Btw, as most Chinese manufacturers they put whatever chip they find in their junk yard. So besides the name, need to mention HW revision as well. I have TPLink Archer T2U - and it uses MT7610 chip. I really enjoyed way you describe the "Way of Chinese" companies  But nah, that thing is called ...

Re: Atari 800 Core - keyboard free operation - Start, Select, Option on Joystick

Realize that at this point, convenience features will always come second. You might think your request is a small thing, but consider the sheer amount of existing cores that need to be bugfixed and maintained, not to mention features that need to be developed for new cores (i.e. new memory module d...

Re: Building Linux kernel

I updated the Dockerfile a few days ago to reflect updates with MiSTer, so now it build 4.19 kernel using gcc 6.2.1, just like the "official" kernel. I have a few specific reasons for building kernel myself (IPv6 mostly), and this Dockerfile does all I want. As usual, feel free to fork and improve ...

Re: HDMI Audio Oddity

You need to understand retro sound system. Most old systems produce unsigned samples. It means from 0 to for example 1V. It didn't produce negative wave. Yes this is something I've discovered about retro machines when submitting issue report to Atari 800 emu project. And when it comes to modern sys...

Re: HDMI Audio Oddity

Sorry to dig out the old subject, that apparently was already discussed, but without clear conclusion what causes the problem. Can HDMI Audio oddities of 8-bit computer can be related to a bias (aka DC offset) in the produced digital audio signal? I think this is a case for some 8-bit computers e.g....

Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

Sorry for a completely noob question. I am I right that still everything that goes out of from HDMI port is digital, so there's no risk of "breaking" the display electronics when someone accidentally enables Analog Video mode when connected to HDMI display?

Re: Atari 800 Core - keyboard free operation - Start, Select, Option on Joystick

Atari 800 is computer, not Console. It expects the keyboard. Even games may need keyboard interaction. It's not about love or not. It's nature of this core. That's kind of a bit harsh response. If I've said anything offensive then please take my apologies. Maybe this was about my "bold" text :( The...

Atari 800 Core - keyboard free operation - Start, Select, Option on Joystick

Hello everyone, This is my first real post here. I own MiSTer since last Friday when I received last piece - IO board and SD RAM from RetroShop.pt (thanks to Ricardo's excellent almost 24h/7d responding and fast shipping). DE10-Nano and other parts essentially came same week few days before. Back to...
