Re: FPGA programmers out there?

Yep, that’s the one. I had the same thoughts on that IDE but was also hoping that it wouldn’t be too hard to apply it to real FPGA hardware. I need to get Quartus setup on my MBpro in VMWare so I can start to play with the DE-10. So far I’ve used Xilinx / Spartan stuff from a Hyper-V guest on my gam...

Very interested to hear the answer to that since if the screenshot is anything to go by then it would seem you have the same FPGA eBook as me :D

Re: FPGA programmers out there?

Also just saw this thread pop up! For a living I am a development manager and what the cool kids these days (I’m not one) like to call a full-stack java developer. I’ve also started to have another crack at HDL. I tried in the past and didn’t think I got very far but I found some of my old code and ...

Re: Classic Gaming [Discord Server] - MiSTer Community

On the subject of editing the Wiki: It's not that I haven't tried to encourage people to edit the wiki, they just seem scared to do so for some reason. People will be afraid of editing the wiki and putting something up there that is not correct. There are not that many people that know categorically...

Re: How to install DE locale for virtual terminal

No, definitely not ideal on the linux updates but I'm only changing a few files (SSH authorised keys, a few bash aliases etc.) so I'm OK with having a script that restores these files after a linux update. Regarding the actual keyboard layout, for my keyboard I just manually created a map file that ...

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

I had an issue last night in the Minimig core where I noticed that opening a document (a readme) inside the core was very slow. I noticed that if I went into the Amiga HDUtil tool, enumerating the SCSI bus was incredibly slow, until that is, I moved the mouse. If I constantly moved the mouse about t...

Re: How to install DE locale for virtual terminal

I saved a script in the scripts folder which executes "loadkeys de", which i start whenever i want to use the linux console. You could just add the load keys command to "/root/.bash_profile" and it will automatically execute when you login. For this to work, edit '/etc/passwd' such that the root us...

Sorry, not heard of loadkeys or used it before.

Added the map to the 1st post. If nobody ever uses it then fair enough.

Redragon Keyboard Map

I meant to post this a while ago and forgot. I bought this Redragon mechanical keyboard a few weeks back because I had a custom set of Amiga keycaps on a keyboard that had failed (a Ducky Shine 4). https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B07CMGWKMT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 While ...

Block Diagram?

As title, does a block level diagram exist anywhere that shows the various parts of MiSTer and on which side of the Arm / FPGA fence they sit and how they interact? I don't expect to be able to contribute anything to be honest, I'm just trying to get my head around things. What would be super useful...

Re: Scripting news

In practice, I add custom groups and settings all the time for different cores, like vsync_adjust settings, vscale, etc. Ditto. I'm certainly not advanced when it comes to MiSTer but I guess as a developer and sysadmin I maybe more advanced generally than some. I basically have general pretty lax s...
