Re: Bluetooth Midi Option

BBond007 has a UDP MIDI server for Windows: http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=117&t=38799&start=150#p400070 However, I don't think MiSTer can do TCP/IP over bluetooth. But if you installed a supported Wifi dongle, you could do it that way. Check the MidiLink thread for more info on how to m...

Has anyone else have that issue?

Thanks!
I can confirm, the option is missing on v200421

Could it be related to not using TOS 2.06 like it says to in this post? Thank you! :D How can I mount this image? Should I rename .hd to .vhd ? What TOS version is required? This is a HD image with tons of utils, games and demos. enjoy! https://mega.nz/#!HYdkWAxK!TBj8lrW-TNUFiqjGMoPV8lIFV3RElZxrl9p6...

Is TOS 2.06 generally recommended? Are there some compatibility reasons to use older versions? Or is it more based on the model?

Re: Random background menu image script

Hi everybody, for a long time I wishes for easily cycling the background menu image picked at random from an images collection folder. So I made a Script for doing that (I take no credit, it’s mostly copied lines from others) take it and improve it Hi, if you put all your background images in /medi...

Re: Joystick testing thread

Hi I bought these controllers. They were $10 each on special at an online store. They work very well on MiSTer. https://i.postimg.cc/dVRTkxHY/IMG-20200216-171951226.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/ZKNhctz1/IMG-20200216-172017535.jpg picture url Reminds me of the PDP Versus pads for PS3/360. Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

Is there any way I can get both optical audio (on the IO board) and direct video output? Activating direct video seems to disable both IO audio output, both digital and analog. I had this issue before and it turned out to be the volume control. I had the media keys enabled in the mister.ini. I don'...

If you follow the link that I posted yesterday you'll see a list of the arcade cores and which games have been rolled in to work from the same core due to running on the same hardware. https://github.com/MiSTer-devel/Main_MiSTer/wiki/Arcade-Cores-List When I checked yesterday, the old github link w...

Another (probably not desirable) option is to use a USB Y cable to power the drive with a separate USB power adapter.

Re: Ultimate chiptune development tool?

This is because no one used decaped die shots to get precise schematics of analog part. Once it will be done it can be simulated precisely in both FPGA and software. Otherwise we wouldn't watch movies, listen the songs and many many other things today recorded to/played from digital sources. All ki...

Re: Ultimate chiptune development tool?

There's also a lack of analog hardware needed to reproduce some chips' sound accurately. The SID will never sound as accurate emulated as the real thing because of the analog components.

Re: RGB vs VGA monitors and simple cables and explanation for MIST/MISTER

I've posted elsewhere about it, but I was hoping for a Mist/MiSTer 15 pin VGA to 9 pin RGB for my Commodore monitors, but I did see some interesting MiSTer settings for VGA. If my MiSTer is up to date and I want to hook it up to a VGA monitor (CRT), can I use a standard VGA connection cable from th...

Re: A web browser on MIster

It's not hard to load LXDE and get a modern web browser with full internet connection speed. You even can watch Youtube in low quality. There is no point to use very limited Amiga browser with serial line speed. I guess if you want to avoid several steps in getting software from aminet onto your di...

Re: A web browser on MIster

I mean that's fine if you don't need encryption anywhere (which you do). Getting a browser working on an Amiga is kind of pointless in 2019, almost everything is HTTPS. Ugh, sorry for the thread bump, didn't see the post date. I never understood the negative attitudes around necro-posting. If it's ...

As long as there's an option to disable it, I don't see why we couldn't have this feature.

Re: Original analog video without I/O board? Possible!

The I/O board RGB output has 5 bits per channel for 15-bit color I believe. That's enough for around 32,768 colors. Some system examples: SNES 15-Bit RGB NeoGeo 15-Bit RGB Gameboy Color 15-Bit RGB Master System 6-Bit RGB Genesis 9-Bit RGB Game Gear 12-Bit RGB 32X 15-Bit RGB TurboGrafx 15-Bit RGB Th...

Re: Genesis Core

I COMPLETELY agree it defeats the purpose of FPGA. "Why not just use a PC or Pi3/4 for 32x emulation" is what echos in my mind as well as many others. Still, with the recent Smokemonster interview, I remember mention of emulators being possible on MiSTer, and thought about reasonable use cases. Scu...

Re: Can the second sd card slot on the IO board be used for extra storage?

It depends on core implementation. If core will access the secondary SD card, then it has to implement FAT2/exFAT support inside the core which is resource hungry feature. So it's unlikely any console will be able to support the secondary SD card. I'm curious if you plan to continue including that ...

Re: Genesis Core

I wonder if it is possible to use the ARM side of the DE-10 Nano to get pseudo 32x support. If not, maybe like how ScummVM runs, a linux based port of a 32x emulator (Fusion?) will appear. That kind of defeats the purpose of having the FPGA at that point. If the 32x logic can't fit in the DE10's FP...

Re: USB Floppy support on MiSTer? Possible? Needed?

USB floppy drives are not possible because USB floppy drives are PC compatible only and won't read Amiga disks. Maybe an old FDD floppy drive can be used at least in read only mode if someone implements an adapter for FDD to expansion port, but someone would have to design an expansion port to FDD ...
