Re: Atari 2600

I may hold off and port to the OSSC Pro instead. I like the way Marqs handles himself and communicates with others.

Re: AppleII+ core

Seems this is still broken, i've tried a bunch of different controllers now. Apple II games often have 2 options - Apple stick or Joyport (or keyboard but many games have no keyboard option). Joyport doesn't seem to work at all. Apple Stick works but you can't use up/down. You can map your controll...

Re: Atari 2600

Am I correct when I assume the MIST core is ahead of the MiSTer core in terms of compatibility with software and general emulation? https://github.com/wsoltys/tca2601 You are fully correct. So now you can go back to MiST forum. MiSTer is open source hobby project. I personally don't care what is ha...

Re: Local Sellers for MiSTer Expansion Boards

Just wanted to leave positive feedback for Poobah (Legacy Pixels) for building me a couple MiSTer boards. They turned out really great.

Thank you!

Re: VGA and timing/sync settings for each core

The scaler is the best way to handle that, but you would need profiles for each individual core. I don't think that exists, yet. For the RGB output on the I/O board, I think every core would need specific code to handle that feature. That's too much work. For direct analog video feeding into a CRT, ...

Re: 256gb Sandisk micro sd card won't work with mister

I have gotten multiple fakes on Amazon as well. Be careful. I just had to get a refund from Amazon last week on a fake. Honestly, your best bet is to spend a little extra money and go buy one at a real store. Also, in the interest of sharing working sdcards, I have MiSTer running on a 512GB SanDisk ...

Re: upscaler core via serial?

In theory, a device based on the MiSTer scaler code could become a very powerful video processor.

It might even find an audience among video professionals as well.

Don't know if the current MiSTer hardware can do it, though.

Re: Calling all developers - „Sync to core“ is great

 The scaler already provides you a compatibility mode for 60Hz output on a display that doesn't perform well. From what I'm reading, the GBA core option behaves the same way the MiSTer scaler does to get 60Hz. They both add about the same amount of lag. As for "reclocking" the cores, I guess ...

Re: Local Sellers for MiSTer Expansion Boards

Pardon my ignorance as I haven't been following the forum closely. Is the LL Cool Joy going to be open source board or is it one I should avoid discussing here?

I agree with you. Keeping it all open source is best.

Re: Mister menu runs at 50hz through OSSC

I understand the 720p default. That's a perfectly safe choice. The 50Hz refresh is harder to justify. I own quite a bit of video gear that "defaults" to 720p@60Hz for safety. If major gear manufacturers like Extron and Kramer think 720p/60 is a great safe default for globally marketed gear, I don't ...

Re: Cable for component video output?

If you're using an older "SD" 480i television, you absolutely should not feed 480p signal into it. You can damage your display doing that. Be careful and make sure your display supports the signal you feed. Your old NTSC television won't do 480p. Don't use the scaler. Trying 480p won't damage TV. I...
