Re: Genesis Core

I found the same issue with a US version of Beyond Oasis last night. I am running VGA to a Sony CRT. I have direct video enabled. I do not have composite sync on as I don't seem to have issues with other games/cores when I leave that off. Is it possible the resolution of these games with the rolling...

Very cool. That hidden extension function has tripped me up several times. Glad you were able to get it all sorted out. Happy MiSTer gaming on your CRT.

Re: VGA component output is tinted pink, any ideas on how to fix it?

Ugh! That sux. :( Do you have your computer set up to see file extensions? I set up a new SD card for testing and accidentally named my .ini file as "MiSTer.ini.ini" because I didn't have the computer I set it up on configured to view file extensions. If that's not the issue, you might try wiping th...

See attached. This is the only .ini file I have. It is currently in the root of my SD card. Currently I only use MiSTer on my CRTs.

RabidWookie wrote:What happens if you don't disable the ypbpr option and swap out vga cable for hdmi?
Are you running the HDMI to a HDTV or into a HDMI to component converter and then to your CRT? I can test the first scenario, but I don't have a converter to test that second one.

Re: VGA component output is tinted pink, any ideas on how to fix it?

Does it work perfectly in both hdmi and component out modes without having to toggle ini files? I'm not familiar with the "toggle" function. I've always just enabled/disabled the YPbPr option in the .ini file depending on whether I want to use MiSTer on my CRTs or on my HDTV. Lately I've been using...

Re: VGA component output is tinted pink, any ideas on how to fix it?

Actually I had my original .ini file and it was in the "config" folder. I moved it to the root of the SD card, deleted the example .ini file, and everything worked as it had before.

Re: VGA component output is tinted pink, any ideas on how to fix it?

Before I added the mister.ini file to try and get component output working there was no mister.ini file anywhere on my sd card. Is that normal? When you first set up the SD card, there is an example .ini file that is created. You have to rename that to “MiSTer.ini” or create a new file with that na...

Re: VGA component output is tinted pink, any ideas on how to fix it?

I have the same issue. I have two Sony Trinitron TVs. One is standard definition (240p/480i) and the other is high definition (480p). On both of them, the component output has recently become tinged with a pink hue on the menu core as well as the console cores. What is even more bizarre is that it d...

Re: NeoGeo topic

I try the third build too, and is the best one for me (NeoGeo_vsync3.rbf), show the complete image verticaly. Some CRT have small geometry problems in the corners, but if it is completely straight, I think the third one is the ideal one. It is even better than my original NeoGeo :D I think you are ...

I am not. Sadly, I don't have an actual Neo Geo console to compare to. I was just reporting which of the 3 files fit best on my CRT since I was also having the same issue with the lower portion being cut off.

Re: NeoGeo topic

I added a third build to the link. Can you try it as well? Yes this change will go into the official builds. I gave the third build a shot. I have a slight geometry issue on my TV and some pixels in the lower right corner were cutoff in that one. The first build is the only one that showed all the ...

Of course! Try these builds and see which is best: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1dHM_xMT5o0IIID8G332PhngiBm6Fjfif/view?usp=sharing I tried both files and NeoGeo_vsync1.rbf worked the best on my TV. It looked like all the pixels were showing. When I tried the NeoGeo_vsync2.rbf file there was stil...

Re: NeoGeo topic

I understand that this may be insignificant, but I think that the vertical alignment on analog output 15khz is not correct, it is shifted down and normally cuts the credit information. I know it can be adjusted with the geometry of the TV, but in my original NeoGeo console this does not happen, ¿pe...

Re: Component output slightly jumpy

It turns out my TV requires a signal that is almost exactly 60Hz. If the core does 59.9Hz or 60.1Hz, the picture is stable and there are no issues. However, some cores (including the non-scaler menu) are more like 59.6Hz or 59.7Hz which the TV doesn't like. On Discord, some of the folks helped me to...

Re: Gameboy core

I have a Sony CRT TV that takes 480p over component. I added the code below to my config file and was able to get the Gameboy core to display (very awesome btw ). Because the image size is set to 320x240, it creates a small window in the center of the TV. I thought I might be able to change ...

Re: Component output slightly jumpy

So it appears I might actually have the same issue as the OP. I get a consistently "jumpy" picture on the menu core as well as the TG-16 core running component video into my Sony CRT TV. This same issue doesn't appear in most of the other cores I've tried (NES, Genesis, SNES, and SMS). I made a litt...

Re: Component output slightly jumpy

Were you able to get this issue figured out? Unless you're using SCART I don't think you want to enable composite sync on the VGA connector. You may want to change that value to 0. I found issues on my Sony Trinitron when I enabled vga_scaler. The TV can do 480p, but the image was shifted to the rig...

You have to define the buttons on the controller in the main menu first before using in a core. When a new controller is defined, doesn't that overwrite the map for the previous controller?

For the NES, I would like to be able to use the Wiimote for lightgun games and my 8Bitdo controller for everything else. Re: Absolute mouse coordinates

Now Wiimote support is integrated into Linux. You don't need to assign IR axes, so you don't need predefined map files anymore. Just setup the wiimote as normal gamepad. Nunchuck and Classic controller sticks are also supported. F10 in OSD is to enable/disable the Wiimote. This still requires a Dol...

Are you still selling the 3D printed fan boards with a fan and heatsink?
