Re: USB Hard Drive and USB Power

Nah I have that 6a
Amp rating is what it can supply safely not what the device draws - as long as the device doesn't pull more than what the supply is rated for everything is fine.
6a is unnecessary but isn't 'wrong'

Re: USB Hard Drive and USB Power

I use the 1.2 official USB hub with a 4A rated PSU supplying both the DE-10 & USB HUB.
No problem with 2.5" SSD + other USB stuff plugged in.
Official USB HUB is good =]

Re: SDRAM board

For what it's worth I made a small batch - all passed 150 after I soldered them properly, some needed reflowing after first attempt.
My setup was PCBs from PCBway, components all bought from RS/digikey so no moody stuff and DE-10 is running off of a 4A rated PSU.

Re: SDRAM board

Cut the pins flush then insert folded once piece of normal a4 paper in between pcb and header, heat enough so solder gets sucked down

Re: SDRAM board

Nah man that says you have an uncountable number of errors :/ You know to press 'a' for the auto test in memtest right? These are a bastard to solder! I'm getting 150 passes on 2x 6tin xsd2.4 - good enough? I'm doing same as Sorgelig recommended; top: 10uf, 0.1uf, 10uf, 0.1uf bottom: 10uf, 1uf, 1uf,...

Re: SDRAM board

@Sorgelig, I'm sorry for asking so many questions, but what is the correct LVC1G04 part from DigiKey? I've read the PDF that you mentioned in the other thread for looking up part numbers (thanks!) but it only lists 'LVC1G04' and DigiKey offers a lot of variations? I'm assuming this component is req...

Re: Local Sellers for MiSTer Expansion Boards

On the other hand Rev. 5.5 onwards have a special zero latency USB jack that is used as a direct serial link to the FPGA core. It is not for connecting plain USB devices but instead intended for low latency controller add-on boards.[/url] As of now only one add-on board is available that supports t...

Re: SDRAM board

sofakng wrote:What 10uF caps do you guys recommend?

It looks like the Kemet 10uF (0805) caps are only rated to 10V? I'm guessing they should be fine because the SDRAM only runs around 3.3v (?)
I bought RS stock 915-9328 they are 35VDC rated
Can't try anything yet, waiting for connectors on the slow boat

Re: RGB out to scart CRT TV help

I bought a SCART from there too, had to solder the H sync and V sync together in the VGA plug to get a stable picture.
Would have combined at the SCART end but it's full of hot glue to prevent opening :/

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

I think the engine part of the PC Engine name comes from steam engine as well as computing engine, the hardware creators were massive locomotive nerds (fair play ;)

Re: MISTer (Main Core)

PC Engine is stupid because confusing mainly with Desktop PC. Otherwise it's up to manufacturer how to name it. So TurboGrafx is pretty much fine name. How about using 'SuperGrafx'? That's the most compatible base hardware and for me using the inferior hardware US label does grate - it was a Japane...
