Re: MiSTer NES Core
I attempted to play StarTropics (USA) today and get no sound at all. Additionally, when you press Start to get to the name entry screen you hear a buzzing sound then the screen goes black. It's like the core crashes or something. This is a known good rom which works correctly on real hardware. Is t...

Re: Atari 2600
I have the same problem with only this core as well. Shame I don't have the rare extron 203rxi which would solve it. It does this on two different crt tvs though so maybe something can be adjusted in the core just to bring it up a little? It's probably an annoying thing to be asked for if you're a ...

Re: Atari 2600
I'm having an issue with the 2600 core, where the image is shifted down on my PVM-20M2MDU by about 20% of the screen height--big black bar at the top, and the bottom is cut off. Every single other console core is perfectly centered, CPS1 is good, and so are every official arcade core I've tried so ...

Re: Atari ST core
@djsquare Is this core working for you again? I have no luck at all. Tried to load 20 times. Only black screen without any menu. Will try to hook up to a HDMI-Monitor. Already tried redownloading via script and manually. If nothing helps I will try the "nuclear option" and reformat the SDCARD. No i...

I noticed the strange controls on Stargate too. Pressing left and right shouldn't turn my ship left or right. I haven't checked out Defender yet

Re: Custom Video Modes Test Thread
MiSTer.ini - 2048x1536 can you share custom video mode for 2048x1536? video_mode=2048,26,32,48,1536,3,6,12,200000 If I remember what SmokeMonster said that's 6.4x and with vscale_mode=3 it should be 6.25x but that's not integer so scanlines suck. I still need to do my more testing but I don't think...

Re: Custom Video Modes Test Thread
Yeah I was very annoyed at my TV. I typically have "video_info" turned off in my .ini but I turned it on for 6 seconds and it shows the output resolutions, I'll probably leave it at this pointdjmartins wrote:djsquare wrote:Apparently this 4k tv of mine does not display the current resolution...smart TV my ass.

Re: C64 Core
I have a dumb question and as there is no such thing as a dumb question I will ask: Why the core does not support translation of keyboard keys to the codes expected by the C64? If I'm understanding you correctly, that would be really weird. So if press "shift 2" I would get a @ and not a " ? I gues...

I seem to have an issue when using NTSC mode. On a CRT using the IO board the screen rolls but using HDMI on a monitor the screen just flashes. Re: C64 Core
I use SidPlay64 as the sid player, but you're right, you have to pack the sids into a d64 because the MiSTer core doesn't support loading sids directly or mounting directories as d64s. yeah I thought so but that's ok. I just love the sid chip so much and this stereo option is awesome. Thanks I'll l...
Re: C64 Core
This is probably a dumb question but what is the best way to play .sid files in the core? I suppose I could create .d64 with a music player of some kind but I don't know if there is another means. I'm loving stereo sid, it's 8 bit like ear candy

Re: Newbie questions
Quick question, is my 5v, 8a Power supply overkill? The only other one I have came with the Nano and thats a US plug 5v, 2a. I mean the DE10 will only draw the Amps it needs right?;) Correct, it is no issue. Your PSU just has a very generous reserve in power it can provide. You are using a quality ...

Re: Wifi
Are you certain it is pulling a real IP? 172.x is often a range applied by default when DHCP can't be reached. When you connect to a wired connection is it the same IP range or not? Are you thinking of 169.254. x.x, automatic private ip addressing (apipa)? 172.16.0.0-172.31.0.0 is simply the privat...

Same thing happened to me when I use the update script. Now I just avoid it altogether. In order to fix my issues I had to start from scratch I understand you're done with the update script but it really is an extremely valuable tool for the MiSTer. Perhaps your the update.sh script needs adjustmen...

Re: MiSTer and PVM resolution?
I changed the composite_sync to 1 and killed some custom resoltion which I had set as video_mode. That was about it. @djsquare, would you mind posting your mister.ini in here as reference for me? I have a sony PVM. That would be superb. Sure, I'll do that as soon as I get home from work tonight. If...
