Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

@Sorgelig I tried on my setup and the Stick did not work. But luckily i found what caused the "issue". I must have mapped the left Stick funktionality with the right Stick when the controller mapping revamp was introduced. So since then i did not notice that both dpad and stick should work. I am gla...

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

@Sorgelig. I don't have my MiSTer currently in reach, so i can't test. But just to be sure what you wrote. If i start up a core and have no other controller porfiles, do both dpad and analog stick work out of the box at the same time? Without an alternative profile and manual config? In my recent me...

Re: Discover new content thread (Demos, mods, homebrew)

Go to the github page, click on raw and save as. Your saved script has some non conformant characters, that's why your script fails to run. /bin/bashâ–²M <------- : bad interpreter: Are you sure you did this with Notepad++? Please check in Notepad++ if the encoding is configured to UTF-8 or something ...

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

Yes, like i wrote before, i can do that, but i am seeking for some plus user friendlyness. The new revamp mapping system was a huge step forward. My suggestion could be a nice and welcomed addition. But i have the impression that you did not quite understand what my intention was. This was only a qu...

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

Different games, different playstyles. Some games or levels in games are best played with analogue stick. For e.g. fighting games like Street Fighter 2, some prefer Sticks and some prefer Dpad. Like i mentioned, you wouldnt have to remap it, just activate it. It makes sense with the new button mappi...

Re: Joystick mapping revamp?

Are there any plans to add a control change feature? What i mean is a menu option to change what control to use on the fly. From D-Pad to Analogue Stick and vice versa? Or use both simultaniously. You wouldn't need to remap. This would be very handy. Something like the Mode button from the PS2 Contr...

Re: Discover new content thread (Demos, mods, homebrew)

I had problems using wget, and used curl instead. I don't know what caused the issues. Also itis my first attempt working with github.
Anywho, your code looks definetely more manageable and tidy. I will test it when i am at home and will sync it with github.

This is true for those using the old folders scheme (before /media/fat/games/ was introduced) or don't have all cores installed.
Thanks for checking, i will add your lines asap.

Re: Discover new content thread (Demos, mods, homebrew)

Hello my friends of fine homebrew entertainment. I found a nice script collection for retropie and adapted it for the MiSTer. The author of Retrobrew has taken the trouble to collect freely available homebrews (e.g. from itch.io) and made them available via script. There are some really good homebre...

Re: Would a Super Gameboy core be technically possible?

Maybe the Super Gameboy rom already runs on the Snes core. Maybe it just needs the Gameboy Rom loading entry in the Framework.

Edit: Probabably needs Gameboy logic integrated into the core, too.

On Groupees there is a nice C64 Homebrew Rom pack that is working on MiSTer. The sale ends in about 11days.

I don't know the Atari2600 Hardware, nore am i a developer. But if i read the above article correctly it states the the Harmony Flashcart is supported, not a necessity. The part that is necessary is a bank switching method that is included in the Stella Emulator to run this game. Since Stella is ope...

Re: How to install DE locale for virtual terminal

Good to know the options. But altering it every time the linux partition is updated is in my opinion not a good workaround. I am also not completely sure if it has a negative impact to some cores if the keyboard layout is changed for e.g. C64. At first look it is not, but i don't know about JiffyDos...

Next exciting thing to do in the MiSTer, besides Demos, you can play back "VGM Files"on the the YM2612 SoundChip of the Genesis/Megadrive. On https://project2612.org/index.php is a tutotrial how to rip your own VGM Files. You can also find a complete pack on archive org. To play the VGM Files you ha...

For those who are interested i have a temporary workaround which i can live with.
I saved a script in the scripts folder which executes "loadkeys de", which i start whenever i want to use the linux console.
