When the images match, it's likely to not cause a problem because the data is the same.
It's when you've flashed a modified TOS that problems will occur.
You could put a switch on the OE/CE pin on the originals ROMs and leave them in though for when you'd need a failsafe.

Size and shape doesn't follow at all once you start looking at them.
I've opted for a 200mA though.

Mmm. Seems as though there's a mA rating with them too. Doesn't seem to mention in dev-docs.

Atari STBook issue with power circuit - L1003 ?
Anyone know what L1003 is on the STBook ?
Looks like an inductor, that has 9147 written on it. Seems as though the one I've got is blown.
Looking for a spec/alternative.

Ok, I've been in contact with everyone I've been PM'd or emailed. If you haven't had a reply, please check your PM's first. If you still haven't had a reply it's likely I've not got you down for a board, so you'll need to PM me directly. At this point it's likely people will end up on a pre-order li...

Re: NEW USB Host Controller via ACSI
http://atari.8bitchip.info/ASThdFAQ.html Only that the sentence "[BigDOS] disables partitions under 32MB" is wrong at least a general statement as my own experience and the Hatari disk image that I posted show. Maybe this happens under some special circumstances ... which I would be interested in k...

Sounds like the out port of the unicorn may have a bad solder joint then. Might want to check that.

Re: PCI for the Atari range
You've got to ask yourself a question of why you need PCI ?
Is it just graphics for a bigger TOS screen ?
Is there anything you require for the Atari that's now not available via USB ? Sure, maybe drivers haven't been written, but they could be.

There's also the OSSC scan converter. That apparently works with a wide range of machines.

Ok, quick update as I didn't want people to think I've stopped again
Been focusing on the MegaSTE boards and had a few soldering issues, eyes not being as good as they used to be.

Re: New board: MonSTer
I've had a few PMs over the last few hours. Bear with me folks. They take time to solder and test. And the boards I mentioned above, are bare unsoldered boards. I've just tested 1 x STE, and I'm half-way through a MegaSTE board. I think I might not be able to provide the Interrupt cables for the IDE...

Re: New board: MonSTer
That's great news Alan! Will you be providing the STe version as well? Yes. I have some limited quantities of boards. After a quick count. 5 x MegaSTEs 3 (or 4) x STE 10 x ST/MegaST Once those are gone, I'd need to get some more boards ordered. First MegaSTE board is in the cleaner to verify it.......

Having to find all the parts I still have. But I have started soldering again and will ping again soon.
Will take some pics to prove it

Re: Mega STe/MonSTer blitter problem
The key here is that for the BLITTER to be enabled at all is at the end of solders.txt....
"Once these solders are made you can put a jumper on the BLITTER pins."
Without that the box will be greyed out.

Re: New board: MonSTer
Pop the CPU out and stick it into the MonSTer, then plonk the MonSTer into the CPU socket. Connect the IRQ cable for the IDE interface and that's it.

No soldering if your processor is socketed. If not, then you'll need to desolder the processor and put a socket there.

and
U006/U6 or U011/U11

MegaSTE has a VME bus which takes out some of the RAM range possibilities.
Yes, IDE can take master/slave, so you'd have 4 IDE devices.

Re: New board: MonSTer
8MB more on ST/STE, 6MB on MegaSTE. Yes, more TOS versions due to it's Flash chip, and two IDE ports. It can also take a Real-Time-Clock module. That's seperate though. It only disables the blitter on the MegaSTE by default, but soldering, can fix it. Or if you are lucky, the chip in question might ...

Re: New board: MonSTer
I've got a about 3 STE, and 3 MegaSTE boards right now that need testing first.
My soldering rig is getting set up later, but I'll need to find some new parts again, which may put the cost up a bit.
I'll certainly ping on this thread when I'm operational again.
