Wow, mfro, that's a pretty big list 😯 I had no idea it was that bad. I know you wrote above not to get too excited, but I think I'll get exited nonetheless. Thanks a lot for this!

What's the difference between this driver and the built-in one? I have a FireBee but I never really understood the inner workings of it's video driver.

Yep, Rob, that's great to see someone using an Atari, emulated or not, professionally. As a cyclist myself I tip my hat to you!

Great initiative. And I love the old-school design of the site (which makes it somewhat modern, ironically). Thanks!

Edit: by the way, I had no idea you had released so many programs. Is SpareTIME downloadable somewhere?

Great! Because as far as I know no program can do this on this platform; this would be a first.

Wow, Guillaume, you have a lot of stuff in your AUTO folder!
I've watched the screen grab video with interest but I'm not clear on one thing: is it possible to have MPlayer record the screen automatically while using another program?

Re: New Firmware, FPGA Configuration and FireTOS

Outsider thought, as VIDO suggested, did you actually try boot with VGA connector in place and search your old resolution setting? If it's there, does the FB under FireTOS allow save video modes or "desktop" as other TOS machines? Then reboot with DVI. Seems at least a simple test, and let the myst...

I've just tried setting the native resolution of my monitor in the CPX: the result is the same, the machine boots but the screen stays black.

Re: New Firmware, FPGA Configuration and FireTOS

If I understand you correctly this is with the latest BaS/FireTOS? If have not tried this version myself, but IIRC some changes were done to the initialization of the DVI chip. This *could* be why this resolution is not working. Yes, with latest BaS/FireTOS, but also with previous working versions,...

Re: New Firmware, FPGA Configuration and FireTOS

Well, I've managed to get back to a running system, with newest BaS, FPGA and FireTOS, apart from one issue: I can no longer user the native resolution of my monitor (1680x1050x32, see picture below). I did the following to try to remedy this: -- flashed from the PC the rescue package firmware from ...

What are the chances of a program still being supported 25 odd years after it's last release? I'm sure there are cracked versions available if you look carefully.

Re: New Firmware, FPGA Configuration and FireTOS

You may try BOOTCONF 1.32. On my FB, It loads fine in 68K EMU (and yes, 2.01 crashes with an illegal error). Thanks. Version 1.32 worked but it doesn't change a thing: after a reset via the FB button the values are back to the defaults. I wonder if I should re-flash the FPGA. Can I do this via EmuT...

I'd try to reset the NVRAM settings, I think to remember it's possible to do it during FireTOS booting pressing some key combination but I don't remember which one. Hi all, Apparently I messed up the flashing. I think I was too impatient while flashing BaS (is this supposed to take several minutes?). Anyway, FireTOS no longer boots (it seems to fail when setting the video mode; I end up with a white screen) and skipping AUTO doesn't help. It's a mess. However, ...

There are several options, mainly libraries built upon GEM, among them WinDom and CFlib. Depending on you language and development environment they might be worth having a look at.
