STOS Time Tunnel - newly added programs & older extensions (Updated April 2020)
Hi all! Just wanted to write a quick update for anyone still using STOS. I have recently sent Chris a set of both old & new programs and extensions. These have either been found or written by ourselves within the STOS Coders FB group over the past couple of years. Some of you might find a few of the...

Re: A Wireless Joystick with CosmosEx and 8bitdo Products
This is good to know, I use an 8BitDo NES controller with my CosmosEx. Will be nice to try and make it wireless!

Re: Quake 2 on Falcon030
Great to hear that you haven't completely disappeared! :) Since our last convo. about STOS (when I asked for the patched missing link file to get past the 128 tile limit) I've made good headway since, with a new game in progress. Also started learning 68k, mainly with the intention of being able to ...

Re: Atari Software
That was painful, but I just updated the file by adding the CD name (or file segment/part) next to each one. Hopefully it's all correct.

Re: Atari BASIC games and Atari BASIC books pdf
For STOS Basic, go here: https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/STOS_index.htm There's games with source code there, a documentation section now too with PDF's, etc. Also on that site, scroll down to "S" within the Extensions & Source section and you will find STOS Buddy, which again has more source code...

Re: STOS Dungeon Crawling
I agree Jon, give people the option to reassign keys if possible. I personally prefer WASD Q&E for most keyboard controls as I find it much more comfortable than having to place my hand further over to the arrow keys, while still using the mouse also. So a reassign key option (or different keyboard/...

Re: Unable to boot this issue of ST Format
The program in the auto folder is only set to .PR, you need to rename it to .PRG, then hit cold reset. It worked after I did that on mine.

Re: STOS Coders - Atari ST, new Facebook group.
Well like I said, Facebook has a very different dynamic. I could never have gotten 50 people into this forum like that, and I doubt if all 50 would migrate, because it simply doesn't work in the same way. I think it triggers emotional responses within people differently, I am seeing people kindof re...

Re: STOS Coders - Atari ST, new Facebook group.
Exactly simonsunnyboy, thank you!! To me it just made sense to try it, seeing as STOS in the forums seemed very quiet lately anyway. Ironically, it was partly what sparked the initiative in the first place. I have paid nothing for this either!!

Re: STOS Coders - Atari ST, new Facebook group.
Completely see your viewpoint, but there's only one STOS group. There were none before that, I'm doubtful there will be many others. I've asked people to keep it STOS related. Don't worry, I can see *exactly* where you are coming from regarding how there's a mirror universe and some parts of that mi...

Re: STOS Coders - Atari ST, new Facebook group.
Yes thomas3, exactly, still the interest there it seems! :) I am aware of this regarding buried posts and the UI - that was something I was already taking into consideration when setting it up. I know that the two (forums and Facebook) work very differently. I just wanted to explore that "what-if", ...

Re: double buffered dmasound player in stos
That sounds really clear for 12.5Khz, nice. When you mean write in assembly, are you meaning to create an actual extension for STOS? STFM compatibility would be good for this in STOS as well as STE. I presume because of processor time and access speed, it would be limited to having just a game title...

Re: STOS TOME Extension?
It looks like it provided better map/tile handling? The Missing Link extension is the best way to go for this anyway from what I can see, I was just curious to see what TOME was like. I did find a page related to the AMOS version of TOME: http://www.ultimateamiga.co.uk/HostedProjects/AMOSFactory/TOM...

Re: De-compiling The Missing Link extension help
Hi dml, your link to the patched version of the map editor seems to have expired, any chance you can re-upload this? Would greatly appreciate it
is it still working out okay? No issues with increasing the limit to 256 tiles?

STOS TOME Extension?
Hi all, I'm curious to know if anyone here has the full version of the STOS TOME Extension, plus any manual/docs that would have come with it? Exxos's site doesn't have the complete version, and I can't seem to find it anywhere currently. Would appreciate it if anyone can post up a link to a disk im...
