You can use a blank floppy image. Hatari will generate one for you.

Re: Rise of Retrocomputing (NYT)
Unless you tell me otherwise I'll assume that the drive thingy is just a mock prototype taped on front of the monitor to make the computer look more like 'serious business'.

Rise of Retrocomputing (NYT)
There's a recent article in the New York Times on retro computing:
https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/08/styl ... uting.html
Nothing spectacular but the ST is briefly mentioned and they have a picture of an odd-looking Mega-esque monitor/disk drive combination which I wasn't aware of.

Here is another link : https://app.box.com/s/u10c6vi1irpzv2hbi8zke0raluuzp83a I have been obliged to split the image in 250 MB chuncks. Why do you reject mega.nz? Is it because of the sulfurous owner or other reason? reliability issues? The reason why I use it is that I have 50GB of free storage an...

I can't get the image to work. 1. Downloaded beepi-1_1_a.zip file from mega.nz 2. Unzipped the archive. 3. Put the image on a 64 GB micro SD card using the Raspberry Pi Imager as instructed. 4. Tried to boot the image on a RPI4. 5. Got a kernel panic (unable to mount root fs) MD5(beepi-1_1.img)= d60...

Did you follow this advice? https://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?t=20639 I assume you have the exxos RTC module? I do, and I have the same issues, I get EN language, a FR keyboard and and a date/time which is out of spec. I think the three general approaches are software (there are some links i...

Re: MegaSTE - No power led after cleaning
I'd just replace it with a new one. IIRC a 5mm 5V LED will do the trick.
They might be quite bright compared to the original ones so you might want to add a 4.7K or 10K resistor.
There's also a mount available if you happen to have a 3D printer: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2817996

To the best of my knowledge CosmosEx is not obtainable right now so this is a bit of a moot proposition. I'd love to stand corrected. 2) Drive Emulation -CosmosEx 3) HDD replacement -CosmosEx 5) Other stuff? -CosmosEx Is there good stuff around for let's say TCP/IP networking (e.g. for file transfer...

Oh no
I had the pleasure of meeting him during SV once.
I didn't know anyone and he was so kind. Even though I only got to knew/met him for an hour or so I am deeply saddened.

If you're in Europe, try
http://www.st-freakz.co.uk/
https://www.exxoshost.co.uk/atari/store2/
If you're in the US, try
http://www.best-electronics-ca.com/
in California.
Edit: You'll have to reach out to the store owners, these items are likely not listed in the store.

Re: Need help to replace missing keys of an Atari STE
Welcome to the forum! There are some sources where you'd be able to get keyboards from I assume (e.g. exxos in UK if you ask nicely), but source and price point depend on where you're living. I'm not aware of any sources for individual keys, though. If you let us know which country they should ship ...

Re: Atari STe Retr0bright
Nice job! I use the same cream, but only about 1h of sun does the trick for me (sunny day with relatively high UV index). I learned the hard way to be very careful, though - a few minutes too long and you've ruined it. Some 303 Aerospace Protectant polishing after that and the plastic looks fantastic.

Space Ace maybe?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N5lECev9xrI
Edit:
According to http://www.stcarchiv.de/stm1990/06/space-ace it came on 4 disks and supported the STE color palette.
Edit 2:
Could maybe also be Dragon's Lair: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYN-jqoulfQ

Swapping SM 124 housings
Hi, I have two SM 124, one looks shiny but has a pretty bad picture, the other one is ugly beyond help but has a pretty decent picture.
Therefore I'd like to swap screen and housing.
Is the screen glued to the housing? Is it painful?
Thanks for your advice!
Tom
