Re: Printing 6 lines of text in 4-planes font in less than 1 vbl

Hey YQN, Finally checked this out - a nice little dissolve effect! thx! i tried to make something nice with my limited set of skills :) The implementation you are using does feel quite convoluted though. If your music isn't too timer intensive (HA!- I bet it is ;) ) then I would be tempted to do th...

Re: Printing 6 lines of text in 4-planes font in less than 1 vbl

Didn't mean to start a movem/movep debate lol! To make things clear I'm trying to display about 15-18 lines of text as an intro for a music disk, without effects, in 3 parts of 5 to 6 lines each (see attached .tos). I might have to display small graphx as well (static), so I guess I'll go for an ext...

Printing 6 lines of text in 4-planes font in less than 1 vbl

Hello and welcome to another n00b thread! I thought it would be possible to do that, doesn't sound too extreme but maybe that's more advanced than I thought? Or It's just not possible and should be stored in memory beforehand? I replaced all the mulu's and divu's with bit shifting but it makes no di...

Re: Questions about MaxYMiser

There's no trick to use more than 8 digidrum samples in one tune, right? I feel like there would be room for it (because you can have 8 very long samples, I would figure it should also be possible to have 32 short samples, for instance). haven't tried but you could have 2 samples in one file and mu...

Re: Gallery of images

At the moment, I am building a folder of "PI1" images classified by artists. It's not finished, but always available here: http://www.mirari.fr/file/browse?f=881&u=506 In the next version of "MI-3", the slideshow will explore multi-level subfolders. great, i was just looking for pi1 images :) thx!

Re: How to perform vertical scrolling of the screen?

If you consider yourself as a n00b or if you need to deal with interrupts, then maybe the preshifted technique mentionned by thomas3 few posts above would definitively be simpler ;-) But if you really want to dive into the syncscroll, you can also start with Alien's articles. Part 1 and 2 start wit...

Re: How to perform vertical scrolling of the screen?

On ST, you cannot do a vertical scroll as simply as you can do on STe by changing the screen address. You have to use the syncscroll technique that is not so obvious. If I remember well there should be several posts in the forum that describe how it works. I haven't found any useful info on syncscr...

How to perform vertical scrolling of the screen?

Helloweveryone! Hungry for a n00b question? I got you covered! I thought I could scroll the screen simply by adding 160 to the screen address but the result was not as I expected, it's not scrolling by 1 line but some other amount (1 line + 96 pixels I think)... Then I remembered the address has to ...

Re: New YM tracker: TTRAK

Yes it's a great ST chiptracker, with a really interesting and advanced instrument editor! And also already quite usable, though it's still a beta version for now. The coder is working on it toward a final version. Have you started playing with it already? I'm wondering what it can do that mYM cann...

I guess it's already old news to most of you but just in case, last week @ sommarhack was released TTRAK, seems promising and a real competitor for maxYMiser, I will have to try it out!
