Re: Atari TT030: Buzzing sound

I’m on 110v 60Hz...

I do have a bit of faint noise on the video output though so my machine is not a model of perfection, lol!

Re: PhotoChrome v6

Thanks for the quick reply!

I’d really appreciate it if the viewer could run on TOS 2.06 (at least I assume that’s the problem, it’s otherwise just a stock US STE).

I assumed the conversion program was using the included Cygwin that it came with?

Re: PhotoChrome v6

Did the viewer ever get an update to work on an STE with TOS 2.06? When I run it on mine I get an error about only working on standard something or other(scrolls off screen) which I assume is due to TOS based on prior messages in this thread... I created an image on the PC but obviously I can't view...

Spectrum 512 type viewer for TT?

I'm looking for an app to view (not edit) images on the TT with as many colors as possible, ideally using whatever coding tricks to display more colors than the machine is capable of. I'd like to display 640x480 jpegs from an old digital camera, and as I don't have a (working) VME card I'd have to u...

Re: Twilight screensaver - TT Mint?

I may have spoken too soon re Twilight working... While it no longer crashes, and I can use the demo button to see what a screensaver looks like, it never activates. I set it to 30 seconds or 2 minutes, and it never kicks in... EDIT: Just watching it, I notice it does try to kick in but immediately ...

Re: Twilight screensaver - TT Mint?

What are the upsides and downsides to having memory protection turned off vs on?
It seems like it would be a good idea to have it on as I assume it would stop one program from writng into the memory space of another causing corruption or crashes?
But I am new to MINT so...

Twilight screensaver - TT Mint?

I decided I wanted a screensaver on my TT (I used to run one on my ST back in the day) to protect my Atari monitor and no I don't want to manually turn it on and off, spiking the PSU and simply forgetting to do it means it's not practical. I found and downloaded Twilight which looks fun, but I can't...

the folder list is a huge waste of precious real estate on a 640x480 screen, See in the preferences - display options: disable icons in the folder window, - select fonts: the archive provides small and elegant ones, - window layout: folder + headers windows (shadow of email content window, opened w...

I'm running MJM 0.1.77 and receiving works great, but sending is not working... Activity says "waiting for reply" until eventually I get "EOF from remote". Atari TT sales figures?

I seem to remember Atari never broke sales down, but are there any theories on how many may have been sold? There’s a lot of talk and debate with regards to the Falcon being 12-20k or so, but even though the TT was on sale for much longer, it was so expensive and incompatible with games that I can’t...

Protext under Mint - How to stop desktop menus showing through?

So obviously I'm on a word processor kick today... I decided to install my favorite, or at least what was my favorite back in my ST days, Protext 6.6. After setting the program flag off of Private it runs in Mint on my TT (woohoo!) but there is a problem... It's not a GEM program so when it takes ov...

Marcel (under MINT) crashes whenever I choose Open(new)?!

My bad luck with word processors is seemingly limitless... So running Marcel (again on my TT under VanillaMINT) it seems to work fine ( haven't used it in anger) if I open an existing file. But I choose to start a new file by choosing Open (new) from the File menu it crashes immediately with a memor...
