Re: Cubase dongle dead - possible to repair?

Uff,,sounds like the later ones there?..There is some thinking done about it ,after all they are not being remade or anything like that from steinberg. There are some threads around here bout it.But those ones are sort of real trixy if gathered it properly. And no it's no simplistic rom or anything of...

Maybe use a null-modem cable and get over the stuff via some terminal program?..I did that quite a lot before got the machine 'hooked' up so to speak.Requires of course a serial port on the internetz machine.

Re: uip-tool

I think that PAK changes some details about signal timings when accessing the romport. Netusbee works perfectly in Falcon with 030 and even better with 060 at 100Mhz. It works in some TT's. I wonder if this is about the 16Mhz and 32Mhz versions? Having leant a lot this week about decoupling caps an...

Re: Problem wth Falcon

It appears the C92 is tied to a CODEC chip U28 which is part of the keyboard reset circuit. I might have found my problem. Hmm,,yeah C92 in my schematics does Audio Voltage filtering (AVCC),but how it would be connected to keyboard reset??,,nope,I would quess on Stormy:s thing there.A glitchy conne...

e.g. on my STE, it will work with the stock power supply but not with the Exxos power supply which has less noise and better voltage control. i.e. the hardware only just about works under the best of conditions. Wow,,that sounds really bizarre, does the NetUSB have some coils or something inside?,pr...

No Pro24 is not being developed, Pro24 was developed in the late-80s - the world has moved on somewhat... ;) Hehe,,yeah I just happened to mention it cause of what I have used :) And yes its really old, its fine for drums (I like the drum editor there) but might be a bit non graphical for todays us...

Maybe possible with parted, yes. It claims to support Atari partitioning table. Never tried it though. It does?,I have missed that one, think gotta test that some day. ---- A bit of update on that, got so curious had to pop in the card reader and check right away since have a handfull of Atari CF:s a...

Not that sure what you want to automate since myself mostly just done drums and audio in pro24/CAF..But mixermaps in Cubase maybe?,is what I use for the audio mixing, but it can be setup for pretty much anything and recorded/edited as a mixtrack.Or do you want some sort of patcher/midi converter func...

I tend to use cp,but then again I am lazy..lol..works fine aslong device has ok sectors/blocks.
Just see to it that nothing on the device(cf card) is mounted, can mess things up.

Re: Grey desktop on STE NOT green but only via RF / TV output

I would leave L403 and DL1 for now. The part of the circuit which generates the PAL colour subcarrier is this: Yea,and the whole thing is for syncing in the main 32Mhz clock into horisontal sync,a bit odd version for PAL-syncing.Ie it makes the main clock to 'wiggle' abit ,some lcd-tv:s dont like t...

Re: Atari STE only boot in High Res

Pin4 is the 32Mhz Buffer Mainclock Output. So the 1,3V are OK but the chip is faulty I think. The Pin1 is when a SM124 connect low (0V) and high (5V) if no Monitor or a RGB Display is connected and Pin7 must change. Yeap, fault tracing with a multimeter is a bit dodgy like that. One has to think that...

Re: Atari STE only boot in High Res

And since we are on the learn how the stuff works side of things, here is a typical data sheet for a 257,combine that with the schematic takeout above and you begin to get what it does, pretty much just first page that is of interest here. Pinout and function table. In the STE we only use 2 (1 and 2) ...

Some measurement with monitor unplugged : U405: Pin 1 = 5.02 v dc Pin 2 = 0v Pin 3 = 0.924 v pin 4 = 1,374 v pin 5 = 5,02 v pin 6 = 0v pin 7 = 191 mV pin8 = 0v So clearly i got no 5V on pin 7. Could i solder a wire between pin 1 and 7 to force the ST to go in low mode? Hmm,,would most likely just c...
