Re: Do you still use a MiST exclusively?

MiST user. I have couple of old computers but their MiST cores that I use are (near) perfect. I don't care much about MiSTer. Don't need the hassle with the kit, nor the exclusive cores, nor the attitude.

Re: MIST C64 core

I can't make a prg. It's dynamically loaded from disk and if I freeze it at that part it doesn't work correctly. :(
Making a SID sound as good as original is tough even for VICE or other FPGA implementations.

Re: MIST C64 core

Great release. I threw A LOT at it and it was almost perfect. There is still some sound distortion in some demos (like Fantasmolytic start of side2, Comaland...) but I guess You concentrated on VIC. Other than that it's just Edge of Disgrace - on the right side of the "disco floor" (3d scrolling rec...

No problem. I'm just trying to find some bugs in hope that it helps You improve the core. Now it's in stage that You have to look very hard. :)

Re: MIST C64 core

Thank You. In Rocketry expanded upper border sprites are much better but still not pixel perfect and that rocket in the next part flickers again. In Edge of Disgrace I think I noticed some garbage on two occasions (rotating plasma bars and one scene switch) but maybe that's how it's supposed to be a...

I use Sony PVM CRT for all compatible cores that support component output, and Samsung Syncmaster LCD that I can rotate for arcade and other component incompatible cores.

I tried now ADF version (no WHDLoad) and I also have graphic corruption in AGA mode. All good in ECS.

Re: MIST C64 core

Thanks retrofun. Well, I'm sure that slingshot is right and there is something wrong with SD card. Yellow led stays on and I think that indicate card access. What is strange that older C64 cores work OK, and two latest doesn't. On the same card. The one SD card that is working contains only menu, C6...

Re: MIST C64 core

My combined ROM with JiffyDOS is not longer working. It works with c64_191220 and older, and it doesn't work with c64_200328 and 200401. If I try to use it with newer versions there is black screen only, scandoubler disable from ini is not respected, and MiST is very unstable in F12 menu (hangs if I...

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

I don't have issues with any other core (that I tested). Amiga, Atari, C64, Vic-20, PAL, NTSC... everything works. That's why I'm more sad about this issue and that's why I asked about timing difference between Pentagon and regular Speccys. Well, I have my old 1450QM if needed 'till I find another. ...

Re: [ZX Spectrum Core] New Update

Thanks guys. It seems that newer PVM doesn't like Pentagon timings, RGB or component, doesn't matter. I still have to find a way to "relax" PVM to accept Pentagon sync. Or find another 14Lx that works.

Forum ate my reply from this morning. :) The hsync output already composite in 15kHz modes (and without no_csync), no need to mix anything externally. Thanks for this, I was already searching for sync combiners. :) None of the PVMs I saw or own(ed) had separate H and V sync inputs, only one BNC plug...

Re: New feature: YPbPr/RGsB output

I tried, no noticeable difference on 8bit cores. Will test with MiSTery and minimig.

BTW, I have RGB-H-V cable and I think that the PVM expects composite sync, should I use sync combiner H+V=S?

I tested the core with PVM-1450QM and Pentagon timings are OK. I tried to mess with the service menu of the 14L4 but I didn't manage to do anything useful. Any advice on that?
