Re: Most wanted new MIST cores (possible poll)

I'd like to see a plain CP/M PC ported, like Grant Searle's Multicomp, explained here: http://searle.hostei.com/grant/Multicomp/cpm/fpgaCPM.html and improved here: https://www.retrobrewcomputers.org/doku.php?id=boards:sbc:multicomp:start There is already a port emulating at least the Z80 machine wit...

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

Hmm, I guess, Disk1 should boot CP/M+, means CP/M 3.0 and this does not work with MiST? I will check with my original 6128 whenever I find some time.

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

OK, yesterday I tried with amstrad_160903_r005.7.rbf and the downloaded CP/M 2.2 images I have and it worked fine. Inserting disk4 and entering |cpm brought up the CP/M message and prompt. I could also start LOGO. I'm not sure where I downloaded the CP/M disks. But maybe I can send you the archive? ...

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

I'm almost sure, I was using amstrad_160321_r005.3.rbf, because this was the first which worked on my MiST. Trying amstrad_160715_r005.4.rbf, I noticed the same issued (only disturbed screen) like on the older cores. I will now also try out the latest one.

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

I have to check at home. I used the latest firmware, but I'm not sure if I used the latest core or the one before. Maybe I even used my own images of the CPC CP/M discs. I will check. But I was really surprised when I entered |CPM and found myself in the CP/M environment being able to see the CP/M d...

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

Thank you for testing! Now with my new non-German keyboard I can also access the keys. First time that I was able to start CP/M on the MiST using the CPC core! Great! Of course, it would be perfect to be able to re-map the keys to fit the keyboard layout.

Thanks again,
Rene

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

Hi vebxenon, I tried with all my wireless keyboards and did not succeed. Since I noticed that I don't even have a wired USB keyboard anymore, I now ordered a new one with English key layout. Hope it works. Could you please give me the key combination which produces "*" and "|" symbol, so I can confi...

This is good to hear. I am using a small wireless keyboard. I might try again with another keyboard, maybe it behaves differently. I was surprised to not even find the "*".

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

With the (now not so) new 6128 image working, I wanted to really make use of the Amstrad, means install not only games but also development software, etc. I noticed, that my keyboard mapping is missing a lot of essential characters, like especially "*" or "|". Did anybody else face this problem? Is ...

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

OK, thank you for your test result. Then it seems, we do not have any chance to get a working CPC core on our MiST. At least not without debugging the core. That's a pity.
BTW, I get the same garbage screen when trying out some configurations of the SoC tutorial. I will check this in detail.

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

Also I use SanDisk 8GB SDHC for most cores. Simply because this card has a field to write down the description. No chance with CPC....

Re: MiST - FPGA ST

Maybe this tool is already widely know, but creating and modifying ATARI ST disk images, I followed the instructions in the MiST Wiki using HATARI. I think, this method is a bit clumsy, because you have to use an emulator and mount virtual disk images. I have several ATARI tools as ZIP files which c...

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

Still not working for me. And the CPC is one of the most interesting cores for me.

Could anyone in Germany sell me an installed SD card that is confirmed working?

Re: MagiC on MIST

How much resolution do you consider "big screen"? Something like 1024x768 @ 16 colors might actually be possible. But definitely not this christmas, sorry. Me too! This resolution would be perfect for my purpose. Even monochrome. Using available DIY TFT-Displays, the 1280x1024 resolution is too much.

Re: amstrad cpc 6128

I have the same problem. I tried different SD cards (512MB, 4GB, 8GB) with all the suggested files from the wiki and have the same result: OSD menu works but the screen is of some strange color with some spots on it. No idea what to try next...
