Re: PC-XT core (from 8088 to 286 CPU)

Can't you use a slowdown TSR to make ao486 run at a lower speed? Though I haven't tried on the Mister, I can say that on real hardware it is near impossible to slow a machine down to exactly XT speed. That being said I doubt the Next186 core can either. That original 8088 4.77Mhz speed is hard to a...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Is there an image floating around? I'm a complete n00b when it comes to the Amiga. I would suggest you check out Classic Workbench http://classicwb.abime.net/ . It is not exactly what you are looking for (doesn't have Tinylauncher and you will need to provide your own original Workbench disk images...

Re: NeoGeo topic

I've put the note about MAME ROMs in the first post. It's also written in the readme, but who reads the readme, right? ;) Thanks for the update. To be fair the readme says: "Compatible with Darksoft and MAME ROM sets" and doesn't seem to mention encrypted vs decrypted roms at all, unless I'm lookin...

Re: NeoGeo topic

So I'll be the first to open the floodgates and ask a dumb question. I put all of the bios files listed in the readme into the NEOGEO folder, including the uni-bios, and the romsets.xml file. The readme says compatible with Darksoft and Mame romsets. Does it need to be a particular Mame romset versi...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion

Everything in Minimig will work slower at the same amount, approximately 2.5%. Wonder what ppl think about it. I can't imagine that a 2.5% difference would even be noticeable. Isn't that how many software emulators and some other fpga clones maintain HDMI compatibility, by slightly speeding up or s...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

Very strange... Are you sure your SD card is not running out of space? The Mister reports the card has 98GB free, but I deleted about 1GB of file just to be sure, but it still gives the same error. I even moved that particular file up in the script so that it would download first and that didn't he...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

So I am getting an error during install. "Error searching for libtheora0_1.1.%2Bdfsg.1-15 in http://.us.debian.org/debian/pool/main/libt/libtheora". I suspect this is an error of my own making, but reading through the thread I can't figure out what I am missing. I have updated using the SD card util...

Re: ScummVM running on FrameBuffer

Thanks a bunch for porting this. I personally think ScummVM is a great fit for the MiSTer. I sometimes like to compare different versions of the same game and this gives us access to a few more. I do have a question about the sound emulation options. I figure the adlib is working, what about general...

Re: Monitors supporting vsync_adjust=2

Tonight I tested my Acer XF270hu V1 monitor. Apparently there are later revisions of this monitor, so I can't speak for those. This is the original IPS version with the larger bezels. I tested many of the console and computer cores, both NTSC and PAL and had zero problems. Even ZX spectrum, ao486, a...

Re: Monitors supporting vsync_adjust=2

Had some time to do some testing this weekend with my TV. It's a Panasonic TC-P60U50, pretty much the opposite of a small monitor, sorry. The TV is unfortunately not 50Hz compatible, so I limited my testing to mostly the NTSC consoles and a few computers in NTSC mode (C64 and Amiga). Everything seem...

what settings do people use for 1600x1200 and 1920x1200? thanks Try these. video_mode=1920,48,32,112,1200,3,6,32,154000 video_mode=1600,48,32,112,1200,3,4,32,130250 One thing I noticed with my 1440p settings is that the ao486 core cant run at 72hz, it drops down to 59. Re: Genesis Core

If I remember correctly most people overclock the 68k to 10Mhz. I think this really only helps for the handful of games with polygon graphics (LHX Attack Chopper, Hard Driven, Test Drive 2?), but it doesn't do miracles. The only other benefit I can remember is it gets rid of the slowdown when you lo...

Custom Video Modes Test Thread

I didn't want to post this in the scaler thread since that is supposed to be for the devs, but some people in there were asking about 1440p video modes. I personally had success making a 4:3 1440p (1920x1440) custom video mode. The settings are: video_mode=1920,48,32,112,1440,3,4,39,184828 I tested ...

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

Seems a bit odd to me. I used to own that game and I can't remember it being 60Hz? Could you try a demo? Thanks! I recorded a few more games and a demo https://youtu.be/0s6acXdJfJY . Also, I think the release of Ikari Warriors I ran before was NTSC fixed, so I ran a different one and it ran at 50.

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

Thanks! Appreciate it! I have a NVIDIA with G-Sync, but I guess with a G-Sync monitor things would work pretty much the same as with a Freesync card + monitor? As I understand it the technologies are pretty similar. Ok, I made a quick video so you can see how Freesync functions with Hatari. https:/...

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

But this was with "vsync" enabled in Hatari's setting ? Else I don't see how your monitor can switch to some different refresh rate. No, I have vsync disabled in Hatari. Vsync on would make the emulator try to sync to the monitors refresh rate. (144hz in my case) Vsync off with Freesync lets the mo...

Re: Hatari 2.1.0 has been released

But of course if you manually set your video card under your OS to run at 50 Hz for example, then you should have a very smooth result when emulating games or demos runnig at 50 Hz. So my experience with emulators and Freesync has been that you don't have to manually set the refresh rate if the emu...

So far, it's not used in Hatari (as I don't have such HW setup to test it (but I'm planning to replace my aging PC soon, so maybe later)), but WinUAE already uses it successfully. Nicolas I'll have to double check when I get a chance, but I remember Hatari 2.1.0 working perfectly with my Freesync m...
