Re: Coolest thing you've ever done using your Falcon?
Buying a 3.5inch IDE 80Gb hard drive for £200 and mounting it with a lot of effort inside the case, had to cut plastic off the molex connector and the floppy power connector. Had to buy a 2.5 to 3.5 convertor and solder on a molex off an old pc, some metal cutting, also had to remove a plastic pilla...

Re: Atari STe SD card reader on the Extended Joystick Port
Looking at the ejp faq suggests it may be possible to read/write 16bit wide data across both (possibly more)?Dal wrote: ↑Wed Jul 01, 2020 10:40 am https://gamesx.com/controldata/ejp_faq.htm
Section 10.1 suggests that it could be possible to write data 8bits wide across both ports.

Re: Atari STe SD card reader on the Extended Joystick Port
"and where do you see 8bits pins on the SD card ? ..." You don't, so that is where a dedicated micro controller or ic like MC74HC595A (I said like:-)))) Basically a shift register, for the nit pickers - I'm not advocating that I plan on making a working device - just ideas for a proof of concept, th...

Re: Atari STe SD card reader on the Extended Joystick Port
Great project, super cheap and super cool, I was going to post yesterday about using maybe 4bit wide to increase speed but, "https://gamesx.com/controldata/ejp_faq.htm Section 10.1 suggests that it could be possible to write data 8bits wide across both ports." It would be amazing if that were possib...

Re: Cubase dongle dead - possible to repair?
I have a dead one too where the heat has burned a hole in the case after being inserted the wrong way. You would think since there's only four wires which probably relate to +5V Gnd data in and out - that it would be worthwhile probing a working dongle with a signal analyser - logging the serial dat...

I thought that too, that they were all a standard size?
Maybe it's been trimmed for another purpose.

You can try the idea you mentioned - swapping the keyboard assembly for one off another Falcon or a 520STfm/Ste as they are the same apart from the keyboard keys colour.

Are you using a Pest/Usb adaptor?
If so, did you try it with just the original Atari mouse plugged in?

Does the cracked Aura run on a Falcon? It start with a message from MCA and .... nothing but reboot. I use the high mono resolution. I get two bombs and it returns to desktop, considering C-Lab Notator never worked on the Falcon I'm not surprised this program form the same era doesn't work either -...

Re: STE BOOSTER V1 32MHZ & FAST-TOS
Yeah, fair enough, $10+ for these plcc male plugs unless you are ordering thousands of units + extra labour. Next logical workaround for me would be to bend the pins on the Atari plcc (as per your guide) though up to 180° (double sided solder atari pcb) and line up your pcb to these pins for an fair...

Re: STE BOOSTER V1 32MHZ & FAST-TOS
Sorry if this is a silly question, but would it have been easier to make the booster with a male plcc plug, would reduce the need to desolder and risk damaging pcb traces?
It would then just be a matter of removing the old plcc chip and plugging in (and securing?) the booster.
