Hi guys! No idea where to post this, so I'll necromance this old thread. If you are missing some mags, check this out: https://archive.org/details/computermagazines The Internet Archive has a huge classic computermag collection online. If you don't know the Internet Archive: http://en.wikipedia.org/...
The ebay auction has no pictures anymore, but I guess it was something like the mousepen for PC: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1ytRvodB24 I also have an Atari pen story: About 10 years ago, my university put an atari st + lots of stuff (hard drive, monitor, etc.) on the "students, take it if you ...
After some trial and error on TOS104UK: If you boot it, it will automount the HD image but not the GemDOS. Go to options. It will not give you the option to install drives (greyed out). You have to highlight (click one time on) your HD drive (in my case C). Go to options. Go to options. "Install dri...
Thanks to everyone for the help and suggestions. EmuTOS works fine for me so far so I guess I'll stick with that. But in order to verify/falsify this issue, I checked out various TOS versions. TOS104UK, TOS104US, TOS104DE, TOS106US, TOS106DE,TOS162US,TOS162DE: HDimage from Hatari homepage detected a...
@galax: thanks for the info. We checked out all the three emulators. Btw: SainT's last update was in 2013 when it added retro monitor emulation. @eero tamminen: Thanks to you as well (and thanks a lot for Hatari ;-) ). Hatari is great for two player games and it did recognize every gamepad I plugged...
Hi, first of all a big thank you to the creator of SainT for all the work that went into SainT. I've been using it on and off for years. Keep up the good work.:-D Now to my question: Recently me and a buddy met for a retro gaming evening. So we were just about to start a 2 player session of Gauntlet...
Thanks a lot for the quick answer and again thank you and the rest of the team for keeping hatari alive and advancing it. There are not many good Atari ST (and Falcon) emulators left. After understanding the problem a bit better,I started digging a bit. What I found gives me at least a little hope: ...
Hi, I just completed a playthrough of my first game using Hatari (Baal). I loved the whole experience. Hatari is a great piece of software. Lots of thank yous to the creators for their work. I am no programmer, so go easy on me if the following question sounds a bit naive to you: When I was playing ...
I just watched a talk of Jason Scott of Textfiles.com (BBS The Documentary, Get Lamp, Archive.org etc.) where he said he had a lot of browsable Shareware CDs on Textfiles.com. They have Atari Shareware CDs (as well as DOS/Windows and Amiga http://cd.textfiles.com/directory.html). They contain lots o...
Hi, a few months ago there was some promising development in reverse engineering the pasti format. There was even a discussion of eventually incorporating it into hatari. Well, ijor isn't around very much anymore/is reluctant in open-sourcing it. Yet still, most people dump in pasti format. So the r...
First!!!!! Congrat's to the admin for bringing atari-forum back. Kudos!!! Congrat's to Atarimania's 2150 dump!!! Someone's been very busy preserving disks.
Hey, forum's back online!!! Great. As far as I see we didn't lose anything in this thread... Let's go on with even more dedication. Ok, after some time trying, I was able to revive my old HDD and dumped one of the disks via verbose mode as far as Pasti would read it (on track 79 it breaks operation)...
Wow, I couldn't have predicted such a speed!!! Congrats... you are very close the 2000th dump!
At this speed you'll soon have surpassed the 2600 section!!
I think I've already tried to use verbose mode a while ago. As far as I can remember pasti wanted me to use a hard disk.
Since it's been a few months ago and my memory of this is not so fresh, I'll try again this week.
Sounds great. Well, I still have the 2 packs sitting on a shelf. The problem is that they are not mine but borrowed from 2 childhood friends... So I would have to do the dumping. I have a PC with a 3,5 drive and several Sts: 2 Stes, 1Stfm and 1 Stf-, but no ST with an HDD. The problem is that pasti ...
Congrats. Maybe this will spark more interest in preservation using pasti in the Linux community (as I understand, Hatari is the only/best Atari St emulator on Linux which is still in development and which is also occasionally included in distros, right?). Anyways, keep up the good work.
I hope this is not off-topic... I've been having problems pastiing Power Pack 4... always the same error on 2 identical Power Pack4 4s. Some people suggested this could be an unsolved/not yet implemented copy protection error... See the thread... http://atari-forum.com/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=19069 May...
Wow, I see that there are only 19 pasti's left till the 1900th... which is also quite close to the magical 2000... What do you think, guys, can we hit the 2000 till Christmas? Does anyone of you have some undumped treasures left in the back shelf of your cupboard? Now that someone has reverse engine...
