Re: Never Ported respectively released for ST

I finally established contact with Sarah Jane Avory and got to ask about UK Magazine claims there was a second Jaguar XJ220 game for the ST and Amiga being worked on, built around the polygon engine used in Thunderhawk. Sarah: Actually Jaguar XJ220 started life as a 3D polygon game, but we dropped t...

Re: Doom - Atari Jaguar Review - FPS = Flippin' Perfect Shooter

Great review. Doom sold the Jaguar to a lot of my friends at the time and restored a lot of credibility to the much maligned system. Crying shame it was rushed, but understandable. Would of been fantastic to see Carmack write it for the Jaguar from the ground up and have it running in a higher resol...

Chris Butler did a decent enough job on the Pal C64 version. Crying shame the Lynx version was canned. As for Skate Or Die? Even in early days of the ST , E.A content to take a cautious, wait and see how the machine sells attitude towards it, so unlikely to commit the resources converting titles to ...

CES 1985...

Datasoft annouced they had an ST development system and we should expect ST versions of Bruce Lee and The Goonies by the end of the year.

Can anyone confirm the above?

Re: Rainbow Islands development story

This was originally published in either Zero magazine or Ace. I can't remember which and I can't find it at the moment. It's good that this is a searchable document. Nice mention of Run Length Compression and the use of STOS and a great game. I thought it was The One magazine, but could be wrong . ...

The lost 16 bit remake of A8 Classic Rescue On Fractalus, if the Amiga couldn't do it.. From Julian Eggebrecht The Amiga version of Ballblazer ("Master Blazer") had a rendition of the Rescue on Fractalus graphics engine, but it was never completed into a full game. The Amiga was not powerful enough ...

Re: Atari ST hardware based coin-ops

Yet more information has come to light. This coutesty of US Gold's Peter Pachla: A company created machines based around the Atari ST in 1987/88. We modified "Backlash" to run on them. AFAIK only a very few of these machines (5 or 6) were made, and even fewer were ever tested on site here in the Bir...

I do hope he hasn't suffered a similar fate to that of the likes of 7800 Paperboy coder Andrew H. As soon as he mentions there's a slight possiblty of code perhaps still being on a disk somewhere, he is bombarded by people demanding he find and share it. Not everyone is as respectful as you good fol...

Another update: Super Thief was started by Palace and by all accounts was pretty well advanced (and good) when it was shelved. Hmmn....

I discovered a claim that there were at least 2 Prototype ST coin ops being shown by Steve Bak..1 running Leatherneck and the other Xenon, intended to power Mastertronic 's Arcadia cabinets, but the Amiga hardware was far better suited so used instead.

Just a brief update.

It was (Ex-Tiertex ) Paul Gill that very kindly passed onto GTW the info that Strider II had been Green Lit for the Panther console.
