Re: ST/MiSTery - Creating blank disc images
It would be nice to have a create blank disk option, but to me it is not really a problem, as I always have a blank disk image for this purpose on my SD card. Diskimages are not taking up much space, so if you need a blank disk on a regular basis you can make a seperate folder with 10 blank disks in...

Re: It's no more a MiSTery
Wow, the 68020 in the STE can make a real difference when playing Elite II Frontier, everything is so fluid now. Many thanks for this Slingshot. Two months ago I reactivated my Mega STE an wondered if I will still use the MiST core, but now you created the machine that the STE should have been in th...

Re: [Atari 800 core] Mark Watson's new site
Many thanks Slingshot, the Atari 8 Bit core was always among my most used cores and I always hoped for a mistification. Browsing the disk images now is so much better then before. It's astonishing after all these years the little MiST box still gives me so much fun.

Re: From MiSTery to a Falcon core?
This would be something very interesting and something that the MiST would be a good platform for too. Original Falcon hardware is very hard to come by today and is sold for insane prices. Today a used Falcon is sold for 1500€ which is much more then what the computer costed when they were new. Even...

At least to my knowledge there are no PCE CD images that need subchannel data.

Wow, great work, many thanks slingshot. The old core was very good already but it is great to see the accuracy improvements from the MiSTer core on the MiST.

The CD Library of the PCE is great. In many ways it is more varied then the normal PCE library (which is also great).

Re: It's no more a MiSTery
Just out of interest, would a Falcon core be possible on the MiST?
I know there is no 68030 core on the MiST but the difference between 68020 and 68030 doesn't seem so huge. So I guess the biggest hurdle would be the Motorola 56001 DSP chip.

Re: Work on the Minimig core?
Many thanks, Uridium 2 finally boots from HDF with an 68020 CPU activated. Unfortunately I get a lot of hissing and noise in the music of the title screen and ingame. Can anybody else confirm this or is it my setup?
EDIT: Nevermind, I had Turbo enabled, this broke the sound.

Re: Do you still use a MiST exclusively?
I have both, the MiST is hooked up to my Commodore CRT and I use it for all 8 and 16 Bit computer/console simulation, while the MiSTer is on my HDMI TV used for everything that is not on the MiST like 486, NeoGeo or PC-Engine CD. I am very happy with my MiST on the CRT.

Re: doom runs on the FPGA
But it's already done, have a look at https://github.com/bbond007/MiSTer_PrBoom-Plus.git That is what I referred to as Linux Doom as it is running on the Arm Linux core on the SoC. That and I am not a fan of PrBoom, it isn't accurate like chocolate or crispy doom nor does it have the networking of ...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion
you will run into problem when you run Amiga games from Europe on a NTSC Amiga. And vice versa .. Test Drive is horrible if you accidentally play it in PAL mode, its subject to if the developer put in checks or coded it in a way that makes it less sensitive to the system frequency. (then there are ...

Re: Minimig (Amiga) core discussion
Most Amiga games aren't designed for NTSC. All the older original ones are .. Defender of the Crown, Test Drive, and many of the classics are too .. etc.. so I guess its your perspective that dictates the answer.. as I live in NTSC land, most of the games I care about/play ARE designed for NTSC, we...

The core was updated to the latest framework, but I don't think this should be the reason for glitches, have you tried an older version of the core to see if the glitches are there too?

Re: Bios Issue Maybe? Help!
Thank you, if you have a fan then heat is indeed no issue. Your RAM runs flawless at 130MHz, that should be more than sufficient (?), too. You confirmed that the neogeo.rbf is not damaged, either? I had the exact same error (and graphical corruption in many games) on the NeoGeo core with a faulty S...

Re: Atari ST core
I am not sure if this is a bug but I noticed that MegaSTE does not work if cache is enabled. 16MHz mode works without cache, but with cache I get massive graphics corruption. I will test more with different (and without any extensions loaded). EDIT. After updating Atari ST to latest version release...

Re: Bios Issue Maybe? Help!
As far as I understand it, the Memtest tries if the memory is stable at certain frequencies, I don't think the test tries if every byte of the memory chip itself is worling or not. For instance look at the built in memory test of the Atari ST, it takes about 2 minutes to check the 4 Megabyte RAM, f...

Great! Many thanks, wow the speed is now really impressive, Robocop 3 runs buttersmooth. I also saw that you fixed the text not showing on the grey screen in Robocop 3. Great work, one of the best cores on the MiST just got a lot better.
