Re: FTP woes

My Falcon does have a Powerup 2, but this was always disabled and I already made sure that the win7 firewall was configured correctly. I will double check and try again. I'll post back my STe findings when I get a chance to try. My work has gone really busy, so may not get a chance to play around fo...

Re: FTP woes

Hi, I have tried all sorts of stuff and have had no luck. The log files I created looked identical for success (with the console and all options on) and failure. (forum is not letting me upload attachments at the moment) I also tried aFTP, but that failed as well - something about unable to open dat...

Re: FTP woes

Its now gone from bad to worse. I set ftp going (before I read your last response), but with the ftp commands and console window up, so I knew it would work, albeit slower, but the ftp failed after 6 hours with some sort of what I guessed to be a memory allocation error. So I thought I would try aga...

Re: FTP woes

Hi, I have tried playing around with the STinG settings and nothing seems to make a difference. I left the delay at default (50). It seems its definitely is a speed/latency thing as I have also found it is not just turning the 'FTP Commands' off that introduces the problem. If this option is on (wit...

Re: FTP woes

Yes, it appears the problem does occur with binary files. All I can say at the moment that turning on 'FTP commands' does appear to cure the problem (for whatever reason... I do not know why) I will do further testing and try changing settings as you suggested and get back to you. It may be a couple...

Re: FTP woes

One other thing. I have been having connection issues and have not pinpointed the cause yet, but it appears if my server does not have any files in the root directory (the one Litchi starts in), Litchi will freeze on connection. Am am not 100% sure this is the cause and will do further testing when ...

Re: FTP woes

Sorry I did not reply earlier, but things came up and I had to stop playing with my Falcon for a bit. As I am new to Litchi, I was playing around with different options to see what they did, and something I changed made the transfers work correctly, but I could not figure out what it was. Until now ...

Re: FTP woes

Thanks for the link.

It looks like I am already running STinG 1.26 and Litchi 1.3B.

I cannot do any further investigation for a little while, but as soon as I find anything out, I'll let you know (probably later this evening)

Re: FTP woes

Do you know where I can find the latest version of STinG? I've been hunting around but can't seem to find it anywhere.
Thanks

Re: FTP woes

Thanks for the quick reply. I will do a little more investigation. I was sure I saw a TYPE setting to ASCII when I transfered. I must be mistaken as you'll know best. I will check I have the latest STinG and see if that makes any difference. I also was not aware of BOM. As far as I can tell, the fil...

FTP woes

I am having major ftp grief and need some help. I have an old hard disk in my falcon (tos 4.04) that I want to copy everything to my windows pc. I am then going to replace the hard drive with a faster bigger one and copy stuff back. Easy one might think. I have a netusbee, sting and filezilla server...

Re: File date/time stamp showing a clock symbol

I managed to sort the problem. Took me a while though! I found a utility to clear the nvram, but this set my falcon to German! After a long hunt through the interweb, I found bootconf.prg by Uwe Seimet and I used this to reset it back to UK spec and everything is good. Its even better than when I st...

File date/time stamp showing a clock symbol

Hi All, I have just had my Falcon's NVRam chip and now when I view my files as text, I see the date, but with a clock symbol instead of a '\'. e.g. 01@10@14 (where @ is a clock symbol) instead of 01/10/14 Any ideas why? Before the chip replacement, I am fairly sure I saw a / (but obviously the date/...

Re: Falcon mod?

It actually looks like 2 separate mods. One is the POWERUP2 32MHz booster. The other one seems to wire the clock distribution pads with the GALS. I haven't checked the schematic but willing to bet it was an attempt at repairing a botched or ineffective clock patch. It probably replicates the existi...

Re: Falcon mod?

Thanks for all your replies and ideas. Looks like it is a powerup2. After finding a utility to turn it on, the led does indeed come on. I ran a few benchmark tests with something I found on the harddrive called "GemBench" and there are some overall improvements. You can see the results of the tests ...

Falcon mod?

Hi All, I have just purchased a Falcon. It has what I believe to be a modification of some sort. It has a red led just by the F1 key. I cannot find any mention of this anywhere on the interweb. Like all my new retro computing purchases, when I get them I open them up, strip them down and clean them....

Re: TOS 2.06 and 1.62

I was thinking about a TOS switcher, but the ones I have seen state that once installed, it cannot be undone without fitting new rom sockets as the switcher board has fat pins and makes the existing sockets loose. I don't like the idea of doing an irreversible upgrade. I like to keep my machine as o...

TOS 2.06 and 1.62

Greetings, I am new here. I have just rejoined the world of Atari with a purchase of a 1040STE' after being without one for about 20ish years, and I have started to upgrade it. I have purchased an Ultrasatan and am waiting for its arrival. I was going to upgrade it to 4Mb, but did not have to as whe...
