Make sure your mister.ini file is in the root of the SD card.
While before it worked ok in the config directory, that was changed in an update.

What does "Update framework" mean?
I notice that often updates to core have "Update framework" in the description.
What does that mean?
Thanks

Re: Handheld MiSTer project
I'm at wits end trying to find a good screen for this project and would love some help and input on this.
I'm trying to find a 4:3 aspect ratio LCD/OLED screen that is 5-8" in size.
Can someone give me some recommendations here?
Thanks!

Re: Scaler
Will these new features such as the Weston compositor work on the native output via I/O board (RGB or component)? or will we need to keep an HDMI monitor connected simultaneously for menu and other things?

Re: 240p/120Hz instead of 480p/60Hz for VGA scandoubler?
you don't want to do 640x240 because it won't look good with all the cores. Ideally you want the horizontal resolution as high as possible so it is easier to divide the horizontal resolution of the different cores (some are 320 px, some 256, some 288, etc..) CRT monitors can handle the high horizont...

Re: 240p/120Hz instead of 480p/60Hz for VGA scandoubler?
If you have an HDMI to VGA converter try the following custom video mode: video_mode=1920,48,192,240,240,3,10,8,75170 This should, in theory, show a 1920x240 display at 120hz. Not sure if this will work on the MiSTer. All my CRT VGA monitors are in storage at the moment so I haven't tested it out, b...

Newsdee,
Do you mind posting some pics of this thing (particularly the internals?).
Do you think an HDMI audio extractor might be of use here?

Thanks!

Re: Mini MiSTer/Retroflag GPi
The Pi Zero actually goes into the "cartridge" it's not actually inside the Gameboy case. There is a daughter board inside the cartridge that provides an edge connector and Pi GPIO connectors to route the controls, video, audio and power. Theoretically you can make a variety of different cartridges ...

Re: Monitors supporting vsync_adjust=2
What is the real difference between vsync_adjust 1 vs 2?
Also how to tell if it is working?
I share a pic of screen with display info showing. Currently vsync_adjust=2 but it shows the same on display with vsync_adjust=1

Handheld MiSTer project
Hi everyone, I am embarking on a project to build a handheld MiSTer device similar in size to a SEGA Nomad. Will have: 5-6" 4:3 display (maybe larger, looking for panel at the moment) DE-10 nano with SDRAM Powered by 18650 batteries internal USB HUB with internal USB connected controller. First step...

Re: MiSTer Logo Design
It's hard to make a good logo. I'll give an example that I have personal experience with, the Barnes&Noble Nook logo: nook-logo.jpg This was one of many under consideration for the product. It had to represent many things and be multi-purpose. First, it had to be easily recognizable and distinctive....

The close spacing really makes this unique and this would look good as a sticker or case badge too.

Thanks guys, I was about to buy the items to build my own cable as mentioned in the MIST thread until I saw NML32's response.
NML32, I ordered the cable from Amazon you mentioned. Also, great videos! This and your spreadsheet really helped me out.
Thanks!

Cable for component video output?
Hi everyone, I'm hoping to get my I/O board soon so would like to try out component YPbPr output to my old CRT TV. What kind of pre-made cable do I need to get? I've seen mention of adding some resistors and NPN transistor and also mention of some people buying an "ultimate scart adapter UMSA". Not ...

Thank you Sorgelig. That works very well indeed. Last time I tried it it did not work because I altered the wrong setting (I put the value in DVI mode line by mistake).
Is there a 1600x1200 mode (native resolution of my monitor)?

Sorgelig obviously knows the most and has the definitive answer. I will share what I'm doing, and it works well for me. I use my MISTer connected to either CRT VGA monitor or 4:3 1600x1200 LCD. I don't have the I/O board (only SDRAM). I use an HDMI to VGA adapter that has an audio output: https://ww...
