Re: 4P Gauntlet wiki Entry: wrong!?
Sorry to necro-post, but when selecting your character, pressing left or right on the keyboard actually brings up "MIDI JOY0" and "MIDI JOY1". I'm not sure what it refers to, but it leads me to believe there was some special adapter for Gauntlet that could be made to allow a full four-player game.

Genesis / MegaDrive controller issues.
So, I finally got my 1040STE up and running and attempted to plug in my Genesis/MegaDrive arcade sticks to play some 1943 (got the original disk from the "GIANTS" collection). For some reason, it (and mouse in general for anything) isn't responsive outside of the buttons. It works just fine in Dynab...

Re: Ultima III that Works?
PPera, thank you! Now I have what I can personally consider is the best computer version of Ultima III available. This is even better than on DOS with the EGA/MIDI patch.

Re: Ultima III that Works?
I know I'm bringing up an ancient thread from almost three years back, but I'm running the HD-adapter version ppera made. It also has the issue with the anti-piracy protection in shoppes at all places in the game. Is there any fix for your HD install version? After having played the NES version, I r...

Re: Strange issue with Yamaha FB-01 Editor in Steem
That's the thing, Charles. I've tried it with both ports set to the Audigy2 ZS MIDI I/O, and tried it with MIDI in to M-Audio USB Uno In and out to M-Audio USB Uno Out. Given I have a bad leg, if I want to tote my Yamaha or my Roland around I want to be able to get a working Atari MIDI setup through...

Strange issue with Yamaha FB-01 Editor in Steem
Hey, I know it's an issue I should've chimed in much earlier about but I've noticed a rather bizarre issue running the Caged Artists' editor for the Yamaha FB-01 synthesizer in Steem. I've tried this with both my Audigy2 ZS card's joystick port with the MIDI adapter cable, and my M-Audio Midisport U...

Re: Xsteem / getting midi to work - help!
Well, from my experience you want to point it to whatever /dev/midi* device you want to use. To get a listing (unless the distro somehow built a number of empty device nodes), do an ls /dev/mid* command in a terminal. This should list the available MIDI devices in Linux. From this point, just enter ...

Re: Midi errors?
Mainly because I don't have the cash for MidiQuest. Plus the editors I mentioned seemed more intuitive for me to use than MidiQuest has shown.
That YSEDITOR program doesn't seem to have features for editing configuration names and such. Many features list as "possibly coming soon".

Midi errors?
I've been using STEem 3.2 for Windows and Xsteem 3.2 for Linux, and I'm noticing some very strange problems regarding MIDI. I've been using the "Caged Artists Series" editors to make sounds for my Yamaha FB-01. I can send fines fine using the Windows version of STEem, but trying to receive anything ...

What's funny is that the game got later converted on the GameBoy as "FaceBall 2000". The great thing was that even the GB conversion (provided you had enough machines, cables, and 4-player adapters) even retained its 16-player deathmatch mode. Now if we can only figure out how to get the emulators t...

Atari SC1435/Commodore 1084S-D cable problem.
Hi there, I have a cable designed for the Commodore 1084S-D and Atari SC1435 monitors.. but I have a few major problems with the cable: On my 1084S-D (though wouldn't mind a modified SC1435 to include Y/C inputs), I get a picture that's both somewhat scrambled horizontally and rolling in a constant ...

Wanted: replacement floppy drive for 520STf
Hi there, is there anyone who might have a working and unused floppy drive I can use to replace in my 520STf? The machine i got off eBay did not have a working drive, so I need to replace it ASAP.

Wanted: Atari 1040ST, possibly with music software
I've began developing an interest in music for a hobby thanks to some friends of mine. I've actually been recommended to look into getting a used (but working) Atari 1040STf (or STfm) to begin. Since I'm a full-time student my budget is very limited unfortunately. I can try to see if I can match a p...
