Re: CosmosEx - new device for your Atari ST
General info for everyone: I'm sorry I've been away for some months now, I was doing other stuff (building a shed / storage for my things), I stopped doing things at night and thus didn't had other time to do them, I've lost contact with most of the Atari related things... I have been feeling bit d...

Re: CosmosEx - new device for your Atari ST
If I remember well, sometimes the FAT32 formatting may use different settings when the drive is bigger than 2Gb; I use a 1 Gigabyte pen drive and I have no problems.

Re: using floppy emulation Cosmosex HELP
Have you tried with another USB drive? How big is the one you use? Any autoboot programs / desktop accessories on the ST? Which version of TOS do you have on the ST? Did you update your first generation device with the latest generation firmware??? The more details you may give about your complete c...
Re: CosmoSolo
Great job, Jookie!

Re: CosmoSolo
I just sent an email to Jookie, asking him to put online on his site the details of the hardware change for the old model (as he did for the IKBD injector modification), so that any CosmosEx V1 user with minimal electronics skills can apply the upgrade if desired. I think it's worthwhile.

Re: CosmoSolo
I haven't emailed him directly yet, because I thought that this subject could be useful for other forum members, hoping that Miro was watching this space more frequently. I'm not in a hurry, anyway... but maybe I'll send him an email next week.

Jookie, are you there? Please give me/us an answer!
Thanks a lot.
Thanks a lot.

Ehm... maybe it's obvously so but I need a confirmation: having bought a CosmosEx in August 2014 I wonder if removing its Raspberry I will have the "CosmoSolo" (i.e. SD drive only) functionality available on my device, or is this valid only for the new batch of CosmosExes? Not that I want to do that...

Re: Notator SL + cosmosex
Frickler, could you tell me which version of NVDI are you using and which TOS version you had before the upgrade? I'd like to try NVDI with Notator too!frickler wrote:hell yeah, it was the combination of tos 2.06 and nvdi.

Thanks a lot!

Re: Notator SL + cosmosex
Very good! Happy to know that we found the reason.
I will be glad to hear somebody confirming the good behaviour of Notator on CE + TOS 1.4, because I'm considering to upgrade my Mega and I wouldn't go for a higher version than 1.4 from the actual 1.2...

Re: Notator SL + cosmosex
Try disable NVDI.
In the past I heard many people experiencing troubles between Notator and NVDI; anybody here have more info about these issues?

Re: Notator SL + cosmosex
I didn't use Notator 3.21 for some months, so I just tested it right now because many updates have passed since my last run... and it works perfectly. 8) I have the original full package, and I run it with either the basic dongle or the Unitor-N interface. My machine is a Mega ST 2 with TOS 1.02 and...
Re: Wishlist
I guess that at least small bits of TOS still would have to be in RAM permanently as there are things running in interrupts and moving all the code here and there would slow things terribly down, so the biggest challenge would be to modify the TOS so it could be split to the small part (permanently...
Re: Wishlist
Sigh! I understand. I know, some old ST RAM expansion boards required some hardware intervention to work. No "plug me in and you will see more memory" here... I was hoping that the PI RAM could be "made visible" to the ST in some way, being the two devices already connected thru ACSI. Tricky, I know...

Re: CosmosEx - updates
My stats: I turn on the CE, wait for the blue light, then I turn on my Mega ST 2 (TOS 1.02) and its monitor; the first boot (cold one) shows me only the O drive. After a soft reset (warm boot) everything is fine with any Atari-formatted SD card, either being HDDriver- or ICD-driven. Every subsequent...

Re: 520STFM (TOS 1.02) can't see device on ACSI
ely, my MEGA ST2 has TOS 1.02 and I also have an old MegaFile60 hard disk; I just configured the CosmosEx ACSI map as follows: 0 = not used (the MegaFile is set on ACSI 0 at hardware level, and I wouldn't open it...) 1 = translated 2 = SD and the remaining (3 to 7) are not used at the moment. After ...

Re: compatible Atari models with CosmosEX
Dont expect any system with TOS 1.0 or TOS 1.02 to work correctly with hard disk as John Townsend from Atari Corporation wrote in Towns' Little Guide to Revisions - Version 1.0 ROM TOS 1.0 - 520ST and 1040ST The original TOS shipped with 520ST and 1040ST computers. This version is relatively slow a...
