Re: Devpac debugging tutorial

When it bombs, there's something wrong with your code. Impossible to tell what since you did not actually post your code. Fair enough  The code is posted below. It's meant to let a picture appear as follows: Steem__00004.jpg It works fine until I uncomment the three lines near the bottom to wa...

Re: Remote development on ST/TT/falcon

That USB capture card is the one I had my eyes on! And since I have a supervidel in my falcon I was gonna pipe the feed via vlc on a mac to another mac.

Re: Remote development on ST/TT/falcon

I have a parcp which I've used a lot of the years. Connecting the parcp to falcon and a spare macbook and the ssh to that macbook would let me run software on the falcon. Other than a spare macbook I have an extra Pi with wifi and was gonna buy a video capture card, hdmi to usb or so. I also toyed w...

Remote development on ST/TT/falcon

Hi, I'm on a mission to develop on real hardware without physical access to the machine. I want to sit at my desk with a Mac and have my atari hardware in a different room/part of the house. So I'm thinking a cosmosex for injecting keyboard/mouse packets remotely and pipe video output (VGA or HDMI f...

Re: 8-way scrolling system for prototyping games on STE

Although I don't think Alien Breed is a particularly good game. Ha! You've noticed I've been picking the easy ones ;) I don't remember the gameplay too well - its been a long time, but I didn't play very far through on my old Amiga. It does make for good rapid prototype material though. The tilemap...

No. Supervidel only. It uses the superblitter.
Time for me to upgrade! :?
Technically there is no reason why it shouldn't work on a Radeon. But I guess the driver is no where near complete enough.

Re: Natcar

The game should set the resolution on its own? You shouldn't have to and I don't think you can set that resolution from desktop. We should ask nature to add support for archive files (like .wad) so it doesn't need to run from an ext2 partition. I also think the game runs in user mode and not supervi...

Steaming klingon style!

Seriously though, it looks cool and plays well.
Well worth a download if you have a supervidel!

Whats stopping you from increasing this to maybe 1000? It already mimics command buffers used by gpus but 56 sounds a bit low :)

Re: SV FW rev 9

I assume its to improve the speed at which blits are processed. The way it was done before was to either poll the blitter to see if it was finished or to respond to an interrupt triggered when the blitter is finished. Both ways introduce latency/overhead. The interrupt way I guess is the preferred w...

For sale: Eclipse and Nova graphics cards for Falcon

Hi, I have two Falcon graphics cards for sale, an Eclipse and a Nova. Think the Nova is a 2MB version (not 100% sure) Reason for selling them is simple, I havent used them for many years and its not looking like I will get time to play around with them for a while so.. This also means I'm selling th...

Thing 1.50 crashes

Hi, Last night I tried latest Thing 1.50 from atari-forge and it crashes almost immediately. I can briefly see the menus and icons on the desktop and then it crashes. I tried both in mint and singletos. Am I missing some install or config step perhaps? I'm using a falcon CT60 with 14MB stram and 128...

Re: A few Firebee questions (general & dev)

The Firebee's DRAM is not connected to the Flexbus, but directly to the ColdFire DRAM controller. On the Firebee the real life bandwidth would be around 80Mb/s. And Kronos CT60-100Mhz result tells 100Mb/s access, so ColdFire DRAM controller is slower, I can not believe it 8O 20mb/s to video ram is ...

Mega ST keyboard + eiffel mouse?

Hi,

I use a mega st keyboard with my falcon (mkx case) but I don't want to use an atari mouse, I'd rather use a more modern one.
I have an Eiffel which I've never used but I'm not sure if it will let me use the mega at keyboard and a ps/2 mouse together?
What are my options here?

Cheers,
Fredrik

Number of ataris sold over the years?

Hi, One thing I've always wondered, how many atari machines were produced and sold to customers? I remember reading in ST Format, probably around 1993, that Atari now had the perfect opportunity to market the new Falcon to its 980,000 ST users suggesting something like a million STs were sold. So do...
