Create .ST images on an ST?
Is there a utility that can image floppies to .ST files - one that runs ON the Atari? I have original disks I want to image to use in my MiST, and I don't want to bother with an old PC that has a floppy drive. On the STE I have an UltraSatan, so I can copy the .ST images to SDcard and easily transfe...

X-Com: UFO Defense (or UFO: Enemy Unknown)
According to this site (http://goo.gl/vfNvkn) the developers started it out as Laser Squad 2 for the Atari ST in 1991.
I've played Openxcom on DOSBOX and had a lot of fun with it. It hooks you for hours at a time.

Re: CosmosEx - new device for your Atari ST
Ok, so it sounds like a lot of work and unnecessary complication when our only benefit is two more USB ports. I don't care about that. I know the UltraSatan would have had problems with a TOS 1.0 machine, but am I right to assume that the CosmosEx will be fine for it because of translated mode? I ha...

Re: CosmosEx - new device for your Atari ST
Hi, I was wondering if the newly announced Raspberry Pi B+ model will be compatible with CosmosEx (http://www.raspberrypi.org/introducing-raspberry-pi-model-b-plus/)? It sounds like the case would need a revision to make room for the extra USB ports. The price is the same, but several improvements h...

Demo outputs crazy horizontal mess
I launched a demo from the sdcard that came with my UltraSatan, and the music worked but video on my SC1224 was wildly scrolling horizontal lines of craziness. Is this because I'm running PAL software on a US/NTSC machine? If that's my issue, is there a utility I can run to lower my refresh rate? Or...

Re: Ultra Satan Advice
Ok, thanks. I was after Roadwar 2000 and Roadwar Europa. I see that you have 2000 on your site, adapted for hard drive use. I think that's where I downloaded it, but I may have got it somewhere else. What I did (successfully) since writing my last post was I used Floppy Image Runner to load the .ST ...

Re: Ultra Satan Advice
Hi, I'm trying Floppy Image Runner, but the game I tried couldn't save my progress. I understand it must be a read-only situation. Is there a way to change it so it's writable? Or can the Floppy Image Runner be enhanced in the future to somehow allow this using either the physical floppy drive or a ...

Re: Phantasie III -- The Wrath of Nikademus
I have all three Phantasie games, originals with boxes & manuals. I play them on real Atari ST/STE. I don't know how I can help. How do you suggest I create images to run in emulators?

I remember people talking about this adapter in the forums either here or at AtariAge - and they *do* work, but only with the right kind of mouse. mmm.. ok here: http://atariage.com/forums/topic/163201 ... ge__st__50

Re: UltraSatan or SatanDisk
Two questions about Lotharek UltraSatan (i got mine some weeks ago, it works like a charm): - is it possible to upgrade it with latest firmware 1.13? - is it possible to use microSD + adaptater instead of a current SD? Yes, the firmware can be updated. See this: http://www.atari-forum.com/viewtopic...

Re: ATARI ST FPGA announced
It seems it will work as an Atari ST and an Amiga but I have some questions... Can run as an Amiga, eh? So here is my chance to poke my nose into the Amiga scene.... I was thinking the same thing. I'm glad my dad brought home an Atari ST when I was a kid. But I later came to understand that t...

Maybe... isn't a memory bank usually composed of 2 slots, though?simbo2 wrote:looking at what system info says it quotes 2MB in each slot of a,b bank

Re: 1040STF 2.06/1.04 TOS Switcher
I don't know if there's much reason for 2.06 over 1.04... but if it costs the same, is there any reason NOT to? I agree an STE or better would be great, but they aren't common. At least not around here. Here's an excerpt from the wiki on features added after 1.04 (of course many of these relate to t...

Re: 1040STF 2.06/1.04 TOS Switcher
I was also wondering about 2.06 on an STF. There's been some IDE add-on boards that come with 2.06 and say they'll work with STFs. But then, most places I read say 1.04 is the highest TOS version for the STF. Is that simply a reference to the highest version of TOS that originally shipped in STF mod...

That's ok about time-goals not being reliable... just don't be specific. Even vague updates are encouraging because we can know the status is current, even if "currently still waiting on XX".
Without any updates, we just wonder and sometimes start to doubt.

Re: A Recommended Atari ST
I don't know how much more it will cost you, but the Mega STE would be better than a standard STE. I'd love to have one someday. If you can, get that one! There's not much room inside the STE case. Megas have an expansion card slot and drive bay, so definitely better.

Re: A Recommended Atari ST
Oh yeah, I forgot to mention the Mega ST and Mega STE lines. :o I don't think you have to worry about running across a STacy or ST Book, because of their rarity, like DarkLord stated. It would be awesome to run across one cheap if someone didn't know what they had. But the ST Book is extremely fragi...

Re: A Recommended Atari ST
Here's a general guide for ya. The first series: ST (F/M/FM) 520 and 1040 ST's are the same, but the 520 models came stock with 512kb (1/2mb) RAM, and the 1040 models came stock with 1024kb (1mb) RAM. STM = ST with composite video output (for TV hookup) "M" = modulator, RF STF = ST with built-in flo...

Re: STM & STF doesn't equal STFM ?
I wouldn't mess with it, myself. I mean, your STM has an external floppy. So it does everything your STF does and more. But the memory upgrade (to 1mb or 4mb!) is a good idea, and TOS upgrade, since I'm assuming you're at 1.0, is a good idea. I don't know, but I *think* the STM should have an intern...

Advice Needed on SCSI HDD Backup & Partition Reading
Hi, I've got a UltraSatan on the way now and want to back up my current SCSI drive somehow before changing my setup. I have an ICD AdSCSI-PLUS ST, running ICD Pro drivers version 5.5.0. I'm afraid if I hook up the UltraSatan to the ACSI-out port of the AdSCSI card, something might go wrong and I'll ...

Hey MasterOfGizmo, this may be slightly off topic, but if you're able to do this (MiST), is it possible you might bring a TT030 or Falcon clone to the table some day?
