has to be the cuddly demo, no other demo had such an impact on people outside of the coding or demo circles. The union demo came close, but mention the carebears cuddly demo to coders on other machines and they will know what you are talking about.

I'm sure there was a demo which moved the drive motor backwards and forwards to make a chug chug sound. but after ten seconds your drive would be knackered so not a great effect to unleash on the unsuspecting public, i'll be buggered if i can remember what it was called tho... :( (probably thinking ...

Definitely the best one yet, I agree with Maraketti, this is as good as some stuff lauded back in the day. Love the icons when you select keys, that's a real nice touch and having an element of control over the demo is a nice feature. The scroller mentions a xmas demo, better be sharpish santa is pa...

I remember a fake overscan on the spectrum 8O

on paperboy it used rasters to generate a pair of handlebars in the top border, that was the first time I had seen anything meaningful in a border.

The first time I saw rasters was on cybernoid I think... amazing at the time :D

I remember doing rasters in Stos and they seemed to take one HBL per colour change. That's fine for producing rolling bars etc, but no good for vertical rasters! What you could do is scroll the area of the screen, then have a list of colour changes set up in your code which go through the text, that...

I remember using roxl when i first started coding 68k because it makes a lot of sense, you have a graphic on the screen and you want to move it left....

But now I can carry on viewing it with those rose tinted specs that say things like "in one VBL!", "no borders", "full sc...

Hi Tanis, I'm interested in your final point about doing it for love rather than money. Is that why you all set up Thalion? When I started coding for a living rather than fun it became a chore, I'd code in 68000 all day long then come home, look at the ST and think no chance... In some ways working ...

Hi Tanis, Just wanted to add my welcome, as a kid coding in my bedroom I used to sit for hours scratching my head trying to work out how you and TLB, Tex etc did all your stuff... it inspired me to take my 68000 coding seriously and I ended up as a games programmer. Finding this site is like some so...

It doesnt get better than this..

Hi guys, Found this site by accident and just want to say I've been after some of the info on here since the eighties, you've made an old man very happy :) I used to code in 68000 and x8086 and put a few demos together, certainly nothing to rival some of the posters on here. For years I wondered how...
