Re: VISION 4.7 is out!

Hi Jean Mars
Do you recommend the latest version for low config Atari (4MB RAM on 68000), or should I use an older version ?
Great Software, I love that it works as good on Tos and Freemint.

Re: Easiest way to have two ROMs in MegaSTE/TT?

According to https://sourceforge.net/p/emutos/mailma ... /37051992/
emutos cartridge version burned to on a Cartridge + AES 4.1 in the AUTO folder could be an option.
Lat time I checked ebay had some rewrite Atari Cartridges to sell.

Congrats for the 1.0 release, I love those desk icons (and wish TeraDesk use them as default too :p) I booted 1.0 on my STE and the programs I used the most all works. Especially the serial communications programs TAZ and Uniterm works, and the STE WAV player from pera putnik works too (for mentioni...

Re: Looking for a terminal emulator working with Mint

Out of curiosity which mint kernel are you using?..Myself at 1.15 since using some own netstuff.
Using the latest and greatest mint snapshot ( or a couple of months old)
Which netstuff do you have which requires an older version of Mint ?

Re: Looking for a terminal emulator working with Mint

I disabled the mint serial driver in the ste folder of the mint distribution, and still connect & minicom would bus error. But a cross compiled 'term' from minix (https://github.com/EmmanuelKasper/minix-st-2.0.4/blob/master/src/commands/simple/term.c) is now working. I will see if I can report the s...

Re: Looking for a terminal emulator working with Mint

Erm, why do you want a vt100 terminal emulator running on Mint? Well I am connecting over the serial port to a router, actually I need a serial port communication program, I never know how to call these properly. I tried both connect ( thanks for the hint ) and minicom from the sparemint archive. C...

Thanks Poobah for the initiative, I was looking at one of those recently.
Curious to see if it will work well with my Benq BL702A, a flat display which supports 15Hz horizontal sync (hence popular in these forums ! :)

Missing includes when assembling a source #noob

Hi I am having a stab at trying to do some assembly on the ST (I only know higher level programming languages like Python) So I am trying to assemble the source of this very nice programm to fix the default sound volume: https://github.com/EmmanuelKasper/ste-background-player/blob/master/STEBPL09.S ...

Looking for a terminal emulator working with Mint

Which program can I see to do dump terminal emulation (VT-100) on serial port with Mint ? With TOS I am using Uniterm and TAZ. But they crash on start up with Mint. I had a try at crosscompiling picocom which I am using on my Linux box, but it fails, IIRC it expects some nanoseconds time definition ...

Re: Announcing ready to use freemint sd card images for the ST

And if you want to play on FreeMiNT, all the HD adapted games that I tested from http://klapauzius.net/ work, except the builtin memory snapshoting feature. From the PP HD adapted games, the 4 or 5 I tested would not start. After booting ST Mint on a 4 MB ST, you have 1MB Free RAM, so you cannot pla...

A bit of thread necrobumping, I had a look at vision, as I also wanted an Image Viewer for my ste, it works very well, has internationalization, and is still developped. GUI is a bit cranked in ST LOW, in ST HIGH it is very pleasant to use, I regret I was using mgif all these years ! http://jlusetti...

Re: Vertical white stripes when using a ST to VGA cable

I haven't found a solution yet because I've been too lazy to change the PSU. Why I don't understand is by using the Atari SM124 CRT, the build is absolutely perfect and crystal clear. I *love* that display ! Also using a RGB SCART connector on a flat screeen, I have none of these vertical stripes, a...

Re: CosmosEx and VanillaMint

Trouble with MagiC and FreeMiNT is that they replace GEMDOS. Which CE_DD is bending to its needs. It's on the TODO list but as usual, spare time is the issue here. There is this build flag, -DOLDTOSFS, which builds a Mint Kernel using the GEMDOS fs instead of the Mint own FAT driver maybe that coul...

Unable to boot TT emulation with tos 3.0.6

Hi I wanted to boot Hatari in TT emulation mode, and I cannot get to the desktop. Logo Display and ST/TT RAM Test come fine, and afterwards I get two bombs, the mouse cursor is at that point the well know bee, but nothing mores. I am using the Tos UK ROM from https://www.atariworld.org/tos-rom/. Thi...

Documentation LGTM, but it says in couple of places that wdialog.prg is required with Atari TOS and old magic versions.
It is still the case ? I read on freemint-discuss you wanted to make COPS work without it.

Re: Announcing ready to use freemint sd card images for the ST

A small bump to mention I have released ST Mint 1.2 The biggest change is that now there is a working unix shell, the MirBSD Korn Shell, the same shell which ships on Android Phones. After booting on a 4MB ST, there is still one megabyte of RAM available. Enough to play the klapauzius adapted Defende...
