Re: What is your Favorite 2 or multiplayer Game On ST/e/F030

@sarnau: thanks for all the information! I should give it a try someday, just recently I linked my MegaSTE + Falcon + STE with MIDI cables and only could think of Substation as a test.

Btw you should promote your Atari activities more, your github contains a lot of interesting information!

Re: What is your Favorite 2 or multiplayer Game On ST/e/F030

Yes, there is also a V3, I tryed it but I prefer the V2. Since you are such an expert on the game... what is the difference between V1/V2/V3? I've watched a few YT videos, to me they look all the same -- same 3D maze, same graphics, I think V2 had some (creepy ;)) samples (wasn't one of them later ...

Devpac's monitor (or basically any monitor/debugger) seems like a logical choice.

Re: How to build Ataris ST Alpha Waves sourc code

Isn't possible that the source code has LF line endings, instead of CR/LF? Also (I'm not sure now) there should be an option whether you want to have case sensitive or insensitive labels etc. It all depends whether the source code has proper "OPT" directive at the beginning or it relies on...

Re: How to build Ataris ST Alpha Waves sourc code

Ok, where to start... ignore that devinst.prg, as you say, it's made for installation from A:. First, go to Devpac's env. preferences and changes the path where binaries are searched. By default it is A:\BIN, IIRC. Change it to your path (perhaps C:\something). Also, make sure that you are using cor...

It would certainly feel more magical if you used some standard text editor / viewer. ;-) (I'm not saying that I've cracked your secret, right now it is the only thing I can think of -- i.e. that Edith has some ability to "decode" the special characters) Also, does your algorithm work with ...

Re: RGB2HDMI for ST

I have noticed that the RGB2HDMI does run warm as it's currently hooked up to my MegaSTE and it's outside of the case. Maybe inside the STacy case was too much for it. I haven't tested it that intensively but my unit was delivered in a plastic box (literally) without any ventilation and has been wo...

Re: Vortex AT-Once Plus PC-AT emulator for Atari ST reversed!

I got an ACSI2STM evice which also works fine so far, but I have to use preconfigured SD Cards with the driver already on it (I think it works only with P.Putniks driver). Therefore I am not able to make an SD Card working as a harddisk with the Atonce once and cannot boot DOS from it, nor install ...

Re: Mouse-pointer jumping off screen

(When emulation is running in fast-forward mode, that's to only way trigger a double click, as you're unlikely to be able to click fast enough to trigger it then.) Not only in fast-forward mode. It's enough to have a 32 MHz CPU set and double click is impossible to achieve. So thanks for the tip, i...

Re: MEGA STE Dead after red dongles insert Upside down

Exactly as troed says, to me it sounds that first you have to make sure that your home made cable works with your TV. A cartridge incident would hardly damage the Mega STE in a way that it boots with disabled display. Oh and the CPU is known to be hot in the Mega STE, so you can replace it, sure, bu...

Re: AHDI version from 1986 can not boot?

I think it is about TOS 1.00 and it's harddisk issues, the folder100 problem and something like that when using parcpusb. Otherwise that system runs nice. With the 1040 and TOS 1.04 backup is just fine, already sent to the previous owner. During that week I will create a virtual system with that fi...

Most likely something is wrong with your hardware. I have transferred gigabytes of data using PARCP-USB (sometimes at once for hdd backups, yes), never ever crashed on me.

Re: New old project: Synchronize your Atari's clock via the Internet

Accidentally, today I have found another simple solution for time sync: if you are using PARCP(-USB), you can synchronise time from the client (Windows, Linux, ...) with one command. So you run parserve.tos on the Atari, parcp on Linux, press F2 (cli), type "puttime", done. If you put this...

Btw, if you need to increase the stack just temporarily (or you can't fully control the build process, like when building native gcc), you can do something like:

export STACKSIZE=524288 # every application linked with mintlib will create a 512KB stack for itself

I see on ebay the Videl pack - 96 units for $2400, it is $25 for a single chip. In other words, he's got about 10 000 Videls in stock (this number has been confirmed by him). Ten freaking thousand. Even if he were selling them for $5 per piece, he would a) never sell all of them, b) make several th...

I really feel that these ASICs need to be decapsulated and the gate logic archived so that they can be recreated easily with FPGA in the future. It would be an expensive proposition though. Re: MagiC booting from ACSI drive no GEMDOS drive available

MagiC replaces GEMDOS with its own, same as FreeMiNT does by default.

FreeMiNT offers a workaround (letting the old GEMDOS active) but it's unlikely MagiC has a similar compiler option.
